This is a wonderful informative video. I would appreciate more tips for the actual planting on a slope so that you don’t get runoff of water.

Showing us the roots and explaining how the plants functions is so helpful. Also, showing plants to grow in different sun aspects applies to our property. Great job.

Thank you for this good video. I am a new subsciber. For a sunny slope with poor soil my first choice is Sedum 'Weihenstephaner Gold'. It does not seed around, but is super easy to propagate by sticking a piece of it into the ground. Later I interplanted it with Caryopteris. bees are all over these plants. Gruß aus Deutschland

Love your channel! So much knowledge, so much excellent advice! As a German speaker I applaud your determination to pronounce the German names. You could probably make your life easier if you put them into google translate: German , and press on the megaphone right of the German word. You will find the German pronounciation much easier than you think. If all fails, the English translations are pretty accurate. Certainly for Silberteppich - silver carpet, Herbstsonne - autumn sun, or Herbstfreude - autumn joy. 😊

Thank you for the suggestion. I do pronounce most names so I know how to spell them correctly. This often will be an incorrect pronunciation sorry

@rosyhardy18 That makes perfect sense! I "anglicised" the pronunciation of my own surname in order to retain the spelling. The alternative, people spelling it "Crowther" would have been too horrible to look at. "Correct" is a very relative term. I probably have to listen a few more times to your interpretation of "Andenken an Friedrich Hahn" to see the resemblance, but it might well help native English speakers to recognise it when written. :)

Thank you Rosy - really helpful. My garden is north facing and has a slope which is in the sun. I already have 'Snow in summer" growing there, but useful to know other plants.

It's in the nature of these plants to look root bound in a container. If you do another on these spreaders, could you show how you actually plant them? Do you leave the roots circling like that?

Hello Rosy, thank you so much for your very very knowledgeable videos, I loooove them. I would like to ask you if any of these plants would accept a river bank that’s therefore very wet in winter because I have a river crossing my garden and rodents are progressively digging and destroying the bank, especially where there are no tree roots to hold the soil. They’re literally “eating” square meters of my garden, making the small river bed larger every year. If you have already made a video about this, forgive my question 🤗 and then would you mind telling me its name or approximate date of publication because I didn’t find this subject when scrolling your videos. Thank you again

As the winters become wetter hit is going to be more difficult. Sorry I have not done a river bank video. Most of the plants in this video are for drier situations. I can suggest water mint, Ajuga and Lamium. Although the rodents will be difficult to slow down without a physical barrier

@@rosyhardy18 Thank you very much Rosy, for taking time to answer my question. I guess adding big stones will be the way to go then, but I like the 3 plants you suggested, at least they’ll bring beauty to my river bank 🌺 have a great day

Dear Rosy! Slops are usually very dry. Will those plants survive in hard conditions?
@rosyhardy184 ай бұрын
Most of these are for the drier locations yes

Hi Rosy, which of these plants are most drought tolerant and vigorous?

I my slopes are so steep that I am trying to make sure the plants will not need grooming to keep them tidy. Which ones are plant and leave alone?
