I just love it when you take us through your flower beds showing what a real garden goes through during the various seasons. Gardens take work and planning and you have done an amazing job with all of yours. It gives me inspiration and hope for mine. So while I am out there cleaning up after the annuals have died, I think of you and how this is just how gardening is. Work hard, enjoy the outcome, then start over again in the Fall!! What a special day your employee will have! It's going to be beautiful, for sure!

Jenny I can’t tell you how much I appreciate you keeping it real. As a new gardener (in Arizona 9b), I have been worrying A LOT about how the frost will affect the perennials and shrubs I have worked so hard at planting this year. Today’s video gave me so much relief that everyone is gonna be just fine. THANK YOU!!

If you direct seed larkspur, orlaya, and bachelor's buttons this fall between now and mid December, those are usually in bloom for me in May in zone 7. If you have any carrots left in the ground now you can leave them and they will flower in the spring. Excited to see your cut flower garden develop!

Silly question, do they need to sprout in order to bloom by next year?
@JLee-pc2vc

In Virginia and southern states they sprout and start to grow in the fall and winter and bloom in the spring. In colder areas, you may not be able to fall plant them. I don't know.@@gray_f

I think it is absolutely lovely that you are hosting t he wedding there. I look forward to seeing the projects. Thank you for showing the garden like this, we had the same hard frost (and now in the 80s) and things look a bit rough. I hope you get some rain soon, we are under a burn ban because we are so dry.

❤ What a beautiful Jew with the drone up. Really makes you fall in love with nature All over again. I had asked about boxwoods last week. So glad what I thought was exactly what you said, sooo, my husband got to spend Sunday afternoon removing all seven. The front of our home looks so naked, but there is always next year and hopefully the new pest resistant boxwoods will be ready to buy. . Of course I wish I could do it now but, zone 6 Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania says wait until spring. Winter is on our door step. Would much rather cut grass and water flowers instead of shoveling snow accompanied by gloomy skies. That is the way it is! Happiest of holidays to you and your family!

Your hostas look like ours! It's sad, because we had begun to feed those to our bunnies, who absolutely love eating hostas! We're picking through the remaining leaves to get whatever we can for them. And yes, the winter weeds are starting to show, just when I'm least motivated to manage them! Thanks for keeping it real with your tour! 🙂

Good morning - I've been following along after the freeze, I'm in Boise, ID, Zone 6b, and we too have a few hard freezes as well and my garden is pitiful. Girl, you have so much work to do. I was going to ask you a question about peonies, but I don't remember you mentioning having any. The last 2 years I've had mildew on the leaves and I don't know why. No problem the first 2 or 3 years. Hmmm. Great tour of your gardens...time to get to work. Thank you for sharing!

Great visual garden tour to show how we learn each season what works and what doesn't. I have several plants I also need to relocate but that's the fun in gardening, that's also how we create new spaces. Jenny your property is absolutely beautiful. Jenny, I am learning so much from your videos. We moved to Charlotte from Southern California 2 years ago and what a learning curve it has been. Lots of trial and error with planting but have lots of ideas for next spring through watching your videos. We came to your garden center in September and purchased 2 Incrediballs and they are beautiful. Thanks again and we will for sure visit in the spring.

DRAT!!! Here in SC 7b, I just trimmed back (not yanked out by the roots) my lantanas yesterday to see if they will over Winter again. They came back from the year before. I had actually pulled the old lantanas out by the roots. Obviously I missed a bit of root and halfway thru this past summer, up sprouted lantana in several locations amongst the salvia I put in last Spring!
