Consider lining up all your header and cross piece boards of the pergola on plastic/tarp and staining them before install. This will streamline the process and allow you to use a staining roller on a paint/broom pole or a sprayer to finish in bulk. If staining after install you have more ladder work and the need to get around all the nooks and crannies. After installing prestained lumber you just have touchups for cut ends/tail pieces. If you spray stain or roll after install you are more likely to get drips, overspray lost to the wind on your plants or missed spots. Also, hay racks with silver falls dicondra on the parking fence line would be awesome... more is more! Love love love. Planning a fun weekend trip to see ya from Charlottesville Va!

The garden center I visit multiple days a week is Bauman’s Farm and Garden in Gervais, Oregon. They are on KZbin and FB. I have been going there for 17 years. Each year they have large planters along the roof of the barn and the greenhouse. Colors change each year and they are spectacular.

How exciting! As soon as you said ‘decorative fence for the shrub lot’ I thought… “ooh, that will make for a nice pot blocker, too.” 😂 (Sorry… that’s not funny. LOL) The fence is gorgeous. Do you guys remember when they used to plant plugs by hand - they had big wooden carts, someone would dump bags of soil and everyone else was filling pots and sticking plugs. Seems like an eternity ago. I can’t believe it’s already time to open for 2025. Welcome Spring!
