I am sore just watching you work girl! Can't wait to see everything progress and bloom. Love your fountain!! I live about 3 hours from you in Illinois, along the Mississippi, near Hannibal. We are in the same growing zone. Been too cold here to plant, usually wait til after Mother's Day, just been getting stuff cleaned up a bit . But hubs and I are in our late 60's and we are slow going. Ha! You have inspired me to get moving!! Thank you!

Great video! I really like the level of detail you provide, and your step-by-step process and you really have a great eye! Thanks for the Ram Board idea. I need to sheet mulch a long area of my garden and as much as I want to keep all the boxes that come to the house over the winter my small space gets too cluttered so this is a great idea. Looking forward to following your 2023 gardening journey!

So excited that your channel popped up for me! Love your enthusiasm for gardening so I had to subscribe. Here in zone 5 we still have snow in spots and temperatures are too low to plant anything outdoors yet. This weekend my husband and I made 8 Mason bee houses (have another dozen to finish). Will hang them on posts in the yard and orchard in hopes that the bees will pollinate the flowers and fruit trees. Plus we are making enough to share with my family and friends. Like you I need the exercise after the long winter spent indoors so I prefer to rake out the flower beds. Looking forward to watching you this coming year. 🐝

I think the cardboard/mulch idea was a great one. Yesterday I was outside almost all day doing general clean up. I bought myself a leaf shredder and after shredding quite a bit of leaves I put all the leaf debris on some of my flower beds. I ordered a weeping Rising Sun Redbud and so I enlarged a small area around my gazebo. In 2012 we made a border around the gazebo with wine bottles so I needed to enlarge a portion of the border of bottles so I have room for the tree. I also did some weeding. Wouldn't it be wonderful if those Ranunculus (and the pansies too) lived all spring and summer?
@GardenQueen
@GardenQueen Жыл бұрын
Jamie You have been busy busy busy and everything sounds so wonderful the changes you are making to your Garden! Leaf shredders are amazing I use them in my beds and shred the mulch very finely and then I mix them with compost add them to my flower beds and my Garden containers that house year round trees as well! Oh my if Ranunculus could last all summer long.. along with the pansies that would be such a Joy for sure!

Just found your channel today and I love it! Binge watching from Minnesota!! I like your style. Im a few months behind on this episode but I will say at the time this episode was filmed it was very cold here. Lol I dont think any of your plants would have survived outdoors here. We get -20 to -30 degree weather it just depends on the year. It gets blistering cold and your unprotected skin freezes in about 15 seconds during really cold days. I ordered a meyer lemon tree in January and it still has not arrived. I was told they are not sending it to me until May because it wont survive the cold Lmfao! I can wait because it was not cheap lol.

Hello Natea new sub from suburbs east of KCMO, 6a. Your style is so similar to mine, and I enjoyed your tour as you worked around the garden. My new focus for the last 4-5 years has been getting vegetable and fruit gardening built up but this year is also all about getting back to the beauty elements that I love so much and that makes my soul so happy. I had a lot of those same plastic stone looking pots like the ones your Juniper and arborvitae are in and they cracked and fell apart so bad over the winter that they need to be thrown away. Did you put yours away over the winter? We have so much of the same hard scape elements in our gardens it's unreal. And last April my little g-daughter Serenity wanted to garden with Memaw for her birthday, she picked all the same exact flowers that you planted in this video. It was beautiful. Enjoy the weekend, I think after the next day or so spring is finally really here.

Thank you so much for supporting and subscribering ! I would go with a resin material vs plastic ! They will hold up better and add more Insulation for your plants and they can take the flexes in temperature better! Especially being in 6a! KCMO! You are sure to get some of the same weather we get here in the STL region! I love that you involve your granddaughter with gardening (love love love that)

So of course the peonies I planted before finally put in an appearance! Peonies don’t like to be crowded so I had to move the roses. Also planted some evergreens in containers and trying to find some Major Wheeler honeysuckle locally.

Hello, Natea❤! Beautiful arrangements and wonderful tips on using soil in the pots. I am on a garden budget this year so I’m cutting corners everywhere I can. Do you put slow release fertilizer in all your perennial pots? Right now, we are still in clean-up mode here in zone 8a. I use both the leaf blower and the rake. The adjustable width rake works well for tight areas. Do you have any suggestions about red shoots (burgundy like color leaves) on knock-out-rose bushes? As always, thanks so much for sharing. Much appreciation for all that you do.🤗

Thank you Mrs M! Is it Rose Rosette? Or are these coming from the base of the plant as new shoots? New growth roses normally come in Burgundy. But rose rosette the leaves are excessively bunched and excessive thorns and the flowers will come in mis-shaped. If so then I would pull that out and burn the roses you pull out or through them in the trash. Year round containers I fertilizer the same way I would if the plant was in the ground for annuals I use the slow release fertilizer and then a weekly fertilizer I am on a budget this year as well and cutting back on spending as much in the Garden Centers for sure!

Nope not really I focus on saving money! Growing Ranunculus from corms etc! Reusing the corms from year to year! My container collection I add them as needed! Although I will admit gardening can be expensive But I try to save where I can!
