I always make sure I bring lots of USD in small bills so then when I drive back into California I get all kinds of goodies. I look latina, however I am biracial and do not speak Spanish. There are good and bad in any and everything but I have been to Tijuana about 6 times in two months and the people there were patient, kind and generous. Both the law enforcement in Mexico and our US customs and border patrol are great as well.

I lived in Guadalajara for 2 years and heard my friends speak of Tijuana many times, but I never had time to visit, so thank you for this video. It's always good to see positive cultural experiences like the ones you post. While in Guadalajara, I never ate such good food and the Mexican people were so willing to teach me how to prepare their native dishes.

Yes, you can have that if you pay for the service. Having money, life is easier and knowing also how t use the service and the money. Many people who have money, they don't want to spend that extra dollar maybe that's why they also have that money. Just to share, I have an uncle who is so rich that he could easy use the toilet paper as ass paper but so when he travel or are flying somewhere wow, he stays in like Motel 6 and fly economy class and he is 6.5. WOW, I told him many times that come on now..............buy and fly at least business class so you have more legroom no.......................he says that hey, if I buy an extra expensive ticket.............soon then I be broke LOL, what a joke ! Ok, enough said but again life is easy when you have the money so you can pay for the service. TCB.

In my opinion, the best way to visit a country that isn't yours is to find a local, born and raised in the city or in the country. It also helps with safety concerns. He/she won't take you to unsafe places or spots. I'm happy to see people touring my native state. Next stop Mexicali, La Rumosora and Tecate where the best "pan dulce" is made.

Jesus Christ is the one true GOD
@ironstone2043
@ironstone2043 3 жыл бұрын
@@watchmanezekiel6068 no he isn't, bro... You are completely blind if you think that. Because God is against human sacrifice so therefore God will never replicate or emulate what he is against. And the prophets of the old testament said that it is an abomination to God to have the righteous die for the sins of the wicked. So they really couldn't have been a figure like Jesus that is condoned by God. God said the true Messiah would bring peace that would be everlasting.... To a point where all the nations would destroy all their weapons and turn it into tools used for agriculture to feed people with. So God said that the Messiah would bring peace...but Jesus spoke against this and said don't think that I came to bring peace. ... So he is already talking against what God promised,.... Therefore Jesus can definitely not be the true Messiah. Jesus said I have to come to bring a rod and a sword... Where in a household all five, three will be against two... Father against son and mother against daughter... In Jesus also said you have to hate your mother and your father and your brothers and sisters and your children and hate even your own life to be his disciple.... What kind of a Maniac says things like that? God would never send such a message... Your jesus is a hoax, bro.

You know that the history of that type of marker goes back to Roman times. Before the Romans, there were no paved or cobblestone roads. So, when the Romans ventured into Europa they put those markers with the number of km to Rome (from newly found cities) and from Rome to their new cities and territories. That's why we have the say, "All roads lead to Rome." That type of marker is used all around the western world even today (as you can see).

Right on. A very good point. Even being poor in the US, you are still in America where you can have a life if you want one. Many people in Mexico I heard are very poor and can't really have a life. So poor people are poor in a different way based on what country you was born in to. Then when we talk about the European country's wow, poor people live like Kings free this and free that even free housing childcare ok many things so again, it is what it is. But sad it for sure is being poor.

@Marshall Carwood that’s not the point anyone was saying, and why would anyone sneak into ANY country without a passport and think they’re privileged?...that’s just illegal. Furthermore, no one was comparing the US passport to any other country’s passport (at least I wasn’t). Regardless, I feel fortunate to have the passport I have despite of anyone’s opinion. Therefore, I’m speaking for MYSELF and not for anyone else.

@Marshall Carwood 100% right, try to sneak in in any Country w/o a passport not only Mexico and like you said see how privileged you are then. If he doesn't know the subject he better not comment at all. How about empathy to the American worker, theoor people in the U.S. also.

@@jimmypadchuck I think so, also. From what I remembered The Ranch was owned by A Woman named Juana, which is Joan in Spanish or a feminine name for John, who was so very much loved she was called “Tia” which is Aunt in Spanish. So that’s where the name “Tia Juana” comes from.

@@GarethLeonard Not really, a long time back I read a story about A Woman named Juana who owned a ranch in that territory. That Woman was loved so much that she was called “Tia Juana”, or Aunt Joan in Spanish. Tia is the Spanish Word for Aunt, and Juana is The Feminine Form of John in Spanish. Since Juan is John in Spanish, Juana must be Spanish for the name Joan.

My husband and I took the train from above San Diego to San Ysidro and walked across the border, too. It was before passports were needed. We then walked across a bridge and then back to enter the U.S. because going to Mexico was a last minute decision and we really didn't want to eat there or anything (we're 50 year vegetarians). We did buy some souvenirs from some street shops near the border. We got back on the train and I swear an agent sat across from us and engaged us in conversation. When I pulled out peanuts and juice out of my backpack and offered him some, he decided we weren't interesting and left. I worked in the high schools in SD county and there were a lot of wonderful kids who came from Mexico and Central America.

@@GarethLeonard I used to go to Tijuana every weekend as a Marine back in the late 80's. Revolution street was party central on the weekends! 1,000's, perhaps 10's of thousands of Americans would be down there. Marines, sailors, college students from SD, and tourists. Every discotech packed, with long lines to get in. I was a regular, and the security would bring me and my friends right in. Depending on the club, beers were 75cents to around 1.75$. My favorite club, Tequila Sunrise. Hotdog vendors everywhere, kids selling chicklets, beautiful college women. Concerts at their bullring. You could get a picture sitting on a horse painted up like a zebra for a dollar. There were indoor volleyball courts with sand floors, dancing on rooftops, just an absolute blast. In the 90's, we were banned from entering TJ because of gang cartels, and everything has changed. At the time, you entered TJ, by simply passing through a revolving fence, possibly the one you pass through early in the video before getting picked up. Parking was free, we simply walked in, no passport, no fees. You only entered the building with border patrol officers coming back into America. There would be hundreds of cabs waiting to pick you up, and they would load as many people as they could into the car and drive you the few blocks to Revolution Street. Great times! I didn't recognize anything in the video, it's changed so much

@@GarethLeonard 😂 My Bro! Pronouncing the name of the original ranch correctly by mistake doesn't make it right. 😂 The term Tijuan or Tiwan [meaning: "by the sea"] apparently is derived from the natives who were located adjacent to the ranch. The Spanish adopted the landmark expression with a pronunciation that differed from those who were indigenous to the area.

30 years ago Tijuana had lots of nice places, everything was not in bad condition, more likely becouse you didn't know Mexico, sure as the years pass things involved but its more likely your own discovery, I moved to Tijuana in 1977 seen lots of things progress, seen many beautiful things and homes 30 years ago, lots of commerce, sky buildings, shopping centers ect. the image of Mexico has always been distorted about Mexico, promoted by the U.S., most of that is arrogance and stupidity, lots of Americans where going to Mexico, vacation and to live, now, today, Americans are invading Mexico for a better economic life, what ever happen to the good old days, when Americans were afraid of Mexico

@@GarethLeonard I think you're underestimating the violence in Tijuana. Friendship Park in Playas is a hotbed for alien and drug trafficking not to mention the dangerous maritime threats. It's funny how your tour guide doesn't point this out even though he knows it's true. He forgot to mention that the reason for the mesh on the fence at the monument was to prevent the transfer of contraband while families visit over the weekends. Of course that's a reactive message since it was happening so much. FYI, all that border wall was approved before Trump came into office by President Obama.
