The Vtoman 600x can only accept 65w of solar input. So a 110w / 19v Vtoman solar panel seems like a waste. Is there a way to get around this limit? In one of your videos you hinted at a possible workaround. Any help from Vtoman?

I got the VTOMAN 2200 plus battery pack. Very happy with performance with a couple of issues. The cable to join the unit and extensions battery is a couple of inches too short. This means I have to have the units facing each other making it hard to see the screen and making an inconvenient footprint on the floor. The other issue is that it sometimes turns itself off, meaning I have to keep checking that my fridge is running and maybe pressing the on button again. Otherwise it runs great. I have solar and batteries on my house but it is grid tied and when the grid goes down I use the existing batteries and then it does not recharge until the grid comes back. Not truly off grid. I wanted to charge it when I had plenty of power and then run the fridge over night. It works well for this except for the two issues I described.

Great comparison video. I saw your 1500X video and purchased it asap. I later saw a review of the 1500 and had to have so I returned 1500X on Amazon. During the Thanksgiving holiday Amazon had a $600 coupon on the 1500 so I basically swapped the 1500x for it for $80 more. Thanks for knowledge. Oh, they also had a promotion on the same $600 coupon that gave me the car jump cable for free.

Thank you for your in depth reviews on your channel! As I do more research your information is super helpful. The more I learn though I keep feeling like do I need a larger capacity like 1000 or 1500 for it be actually usable as a backup in case power goes out. I feel like the things the 600x can do my smaller batteries can do and I would need a larger one for actual backup in power outage, like a freezer or heater.

They must’ve updated this along the way. I just got one and my AC adapter was getting very hot measured 160F with an infrared reader. Hot enough to scald, yikes! They told me don’t worry about it - passed the quality control test. No offer to replace. Got a 12V 120W AC adapter and the 600X showing draw of 78W. The adapter temp a much more reasonable 120-125F. On their website, the manual appears to be updated as well showing maximum input of 100W.

So... I order two of the VTOMAN 600x units for use as a battery back-up idea for my two (Upper and Lower) NG Standard Home furnaces. After runing the test on the Upper-furnace, the power draw is about 260-300W, when the furnace is running/heating. With the furnace in Stand-by, I can leave the VTOMAN attached and the standby power-draw will keep the connection "HOT" and you can leave it unattended. Unfortunately, the running power-draw is so-great that the 65W Recharger can not keep up and it becomes a slow winding-road to H-E- double-HockeySticks, if I leave the VTOMAN in the loop (w/ Charger plugged-in & the VTOMAN 600x supplying the full-time 120v AC-power to the furnace). In about an hour, the system was at 77% and diminishing. To make this work as a UPS-style supply, I would need to have, at least, a 180W Recharger... which would span and balance with the Furnace's up/down-time. I was considering adding the 600W Extra-battery for capacity, but it charges through the VTOMAN 600x (limit 65W), after the 600x is 'topped-off." HELP? Also, not to exacerbate the issue, the predicted run-time for the furnace, with just the 600x operating is, roughly, 1-2 hours. Is this, really, practical? It did seem like such a nice, affordable, and clean emergency-power solution; so, I thought I might as well go ahead and... JUMP.

Excellent analysis in comparison thank you so much. Do you really think the veto man slower charging is a negative? Wouldn’t that be an advantage and then on head to head comparison because it won’t charge as hot it might last longer overall? Not sure about that but thought I would throw it out to the expert.

It’s a terrific video so far. I’m halfway done. Had to stop and read the post. I don’t know if it’s mentioned there’s quite a few posts but I did look. If for some reason I can’t get a minute to come up on the video for reference, about halfway you say, you expect the VTOMAN to power the refrigerator because there’s a bigger inverter. You don’t use the inverter for 12 V. That’s for 120 V. i’m assuming you know this and it’s just a slip. Now to see if you corrected as I finish the video 😃

Yeah, this was repeated a few times. Surprised it's been 10 months and this hasn't been corrected. What counts for the DC output is its current capacity. The inverter and the AC circuitry is not involved. It would be good to know whether there's overcurrent protection that isn't an internal fuse that blows.

I chose the Jackery 300 since it has roughly the same battery capacity of the Jump 600x, and battery capacity is the main determinant of price. VTOMAN's product naming can be confusing since now, they also have the Jump 600 - which DOES have 600Wh capacity and would be a more appropriate match-up with the Jackery 500.

They're solid panels: amzn.to/3MjNPLc and run $190 with the $40 Amazon coupon applied. I did a video on it awhile back (unsponsored): kzbin.info/www/bejne/jZ7YhZ-rmqqfg9E

If the 600x can only handle a 65W charge, I wonder why they included two DC 5521 outputs. Even if both solar panels are receiving, let's say, 40W of energy each, the unit won't be able to utilize it all?

The two out outputs are just that, outputs that will not charge the 600X. I have the cigarette lighter charging plug into a 12 volt regulated power supply and it was charging at 85 watts. which I think is ok. I found on the Vetoman website that the 600X dc input is 100 watts max. Hope this helps.

@ericbeauvais8052 yeah I was wrong. There's one DC input I understand now. I ended up buying one and the Manual says we can plug any sized Watt panel into it but I guess like you say, it will be limited to 100w. I'm testing it out with a 10w panel in a few days just because I'm cheap and curious..

how much does the vtoman weigh and does the battery have to be at 100% in order to jump start a van?
@ReeWrayOutdoors
@ReeWrayOutdoors Жыл бұрын
I don't have the weight handy, but I'm sure their website or Amazon listing will have the weight. It does not need to be at 100% state of charge to use the Jump start option. Just needs enough to charge the Jump capacitors(they're high amps but don't consume much Wh capacity since it's just a momentarily power surge)

how "safe" are these to store in your house?
@ReeWrayOutdoors
@ReeWrayOutdoors 2 жыл бұрын
LiFePO4 chemistry are the safest Lithium battery chemistries. Storage is extremely safe. IF there was ever going to be a problem (aside from obvious catastrophic damage, like running it over with a car or putting a bullet through it), the most likely time would be during charging - but even that is extremely safe and why most solar installations of any significantly sized battery bank will use LiFePO4. Personally, I'm confident enough to be storing probably 12+ power stations in my house right now. :P (yeah, it's gotten out of hand haha)
