@corjonbett dude, Garfield has what is consider a grade A power. He has just as good of deductive reasoning as Robin, and it has been shown in MULTIPLE mediums. What's so great about turning into animals? He can't even blend in, because he is always green... @@GilDice Because, compared to a normal human, yes, he's incredible... but he is not bulletproof, nor is he capable of surviving if someone wants to shoot him. Seriously, a bullet to the brain would end him, plus the animals of Earth aren't really that impressive anymore. Most of them could simply be tranqed, and then killed. If he's incapable of morphing back, h's useless. It's also been demonstrated that BB can be immobilized by things that constrict him, so jut simple things like putting him in an unbreakable glass tube without ventilation renders him completely useless, or pressurized foam that would crush him if he shrinks. He's really simple to neutralize, compared to other heroes. And, I haven't read the comics. But on the shows he's on, he's usually portrayed as being fairly brainless, and without any self control. If he's portrayed differently in the comics, that's different. But on Young Justice, he's portrayed fairly incompetently. To the point where just about any villain can predict and manipulate him and his crew without them being an issue, provided they're not the "Super powered henchman" level of intelligence.

Black Canary's role as therapist for young super heroes with issues goes way back to the 1970's Green Lantern/Green Arrow saga under Denny oNeil and Neal Adams. Hal Jordan, Oliver Queen and Dinah Lance find Roy Harper (Speedy) facing drug addiction. Ollie is unable to deal with his former sidekick's troubles but Dinah did. She was helpful in getting Roy rehabilitation program.

The series really represents effort, in writing stores that can really connect with people. Take this scene. The story has been set up prior. We know Garfield has had a very rough few years. It is a lot for anybody to go through, let alone a teenager. Canary has also been set up as the counsellor for all heroes. It has been mentioned and shown that she helps our heroes through their own struggles. Most visibly, she spoke with Zatara after finally being released by Dr. Fate, helping him come to terms with losing his autonomy and his life, including time with his daughter, for ten years, to Fate. It also helps that being of this life, she understands better than any counselor can what this toll a hero's life takes. The session with Garfield feels authentic. Somebody in his position would put on a strong face, trying very hard to convince his conselor that he needs no intervention. Canary, having been trained, and informed of recent happenings with Garfield, as well as knowing his background well, would anticipate this initial response. Very skillfully, she gently wore Garfield's guard down, and helped make him see that he was very much troubled, finally getting him to admit to her, and more importantly himself, that he needes help.

I’m glad to see Beast Boy finally admitting he needs help. I understand he suffered great losses but it’s high time he realized there was nothing he could’ve done to prevent the tragedies he experienced. I'm glad when shows like YJ display real life matters like mental health issues because I feel like kids needs to see those stuff in order to raise awareness. Moreover, it also makes the show more compelling and so grounded because mental health issues are real and it could happen to anyone, and people who are dealing with mental health issues can have something to relate to or that they feel like they are identified. But I'm mostly glad that in the show, there is no stigma towards mental health issues. Instead, it encourages people to seek help and that there is no shame in admitting that you are hurting and struggling.

This is what I've been missing in season 3: Realistic and tear-jerking moments for our beloved characters as they go through character growth. I always loved the psychiatric scenes the Team had with Black Canary in season 1, and once again, it's done respectfully here with Beast Boy. Garfield is talented and powerful as a superhero, but underneath all that green skin, he is still just a child who had suffered so much trauma and admitting that even he needs help was beautifully done.

I know this is Young Justice but I can’t help thinking of Beast Boy from Teen Titans. For some reason remembering that version made this one hit differently. Like as if Beast Boy grew up only to end up in hard times similar to what geniuses and child actors go through. You see these characters in different canons. You know they’re supposed to be different, but in your head they’re just not. They’re all one and the same. In a way you bond with them a little. You know them. You want to see them succeed. Then the future comes and you see your heroes brought to their very lowest if not destroyed.
