The whole idea behind Heroes in Crisis and "the heroes on therapy" parts were awesome. It's the "Wally's emotions killed all the heroes sucked".

Heroes in Crisis was fine. It was a different form of therapy. Perfectly reasonable for a group of people who, historically, aren’t the best at letting people in. Wally’s actions are a result of having his life stripped away from him and not knowing if he can trust anybody. It’s hyperbolized because that’s the nature of comics and superheroes. He’s isolated, after feeling isolated. Nothing was real to him. He needed something drastic to make it real.

I love that analogy (even when it wasn't in order); Connor went immediately from denial and I guess somewhere in between Depression and bargaining, not to mention anger mixed with denial, with just touching the surface of acceptance. Bruce is conflicted. He knows there needs to be a Batman, but loves his adoptive son too much to wish that upon him. Being Batman is more of a commitment the marriage and has less sex. Dick Grayson has friends and something too lose. And by the nature of Batman, he’s not allowed to live a happy life. Everyone wants to be the Batman, but no ones ready.

DROOKiEZ I really loved the portrayal of their relationship here and it’s pretty accurate to how they’re written by the best comic writers like Morrison. Bruce adopted him so he won’t suffer like he did when he lost his parents and in essence that’s what his mission is all about. Obsession, paranoia, grief, rage and depression aside, the most important aspect of Bruce that makes Batman a hero is his compassion along with the determination and will to support it.

That is exactly what batman said once......when ww talked about how bats brought dick into crime fighting at 9, he said he needed to avenge his parents death by finding the killer and ww said "so that he can be like u?" but batman said so that he wouldn't, meaning he wants robin to be hero, but never to become batman, the hard life he lives in

Shea Lupkes Maybe I'm just looking into it too much here for how it was meant, but I like to take my own interpretation: Maybe that's why. As he said he's always wanted and expected to become him. He spent so much time trying to emulate someone else that he never had time to realise who he was himself - never had time to build an understanding of the true mantle of responsibility; when confronted with that, realising your entire life as Robin has meant something you didn't expect it to be, and then given something you've never had before (an opportunity to speak) it's no surprise really that he was the one to open up.

Due to the seriousness of the Reach/Light/Invasion, Nightwing became leader(like Batman), hid secrets from everyone(like Batman), sacrificed everything for his mission(like Batman), ect. He became the thing he didn't want to. So when you go back and listen to his session, his is the most powerful because it makes you feel sad knowing that he essentially became Batman five years later

Tom Wylie I disagree, Superboy opening up was pretty deep. From the get go he wanted to be Superman and he got what he wanted at everyone else's expense and came full circle on that. Unlike Robin that woke up out of his childish fantasy rejected his fate Superboy's fantasy was fulfilled and he embraced it, just too much and that scares him. While Robin realises that he doesn't have the drive to go that far Superboy realizes he does.

While the people of Earth are his people, the Kryptonians were his true people and he never got to know them and now he is one of the only ones on a foreign planet with his abilities and no one else to truly understand what it means to be this way. Despite everyone else having magnificent powers there really is only one Superman. And Superboy, who wishes to be just like Superman, finally understood what it was like to be alone when the people he cared for were gone...thus making him able to empathize and relate

I kind of find it odd that not only does she look the saddest in this moment, but that Robin opens up the most out of all the team. Robin's moment here is so important, especially in context of season 2. He hated using his Team like that, but he did it anyway. He hated using his friends like that in season 2, it was killing him on the inside, but he did it anyway. "Putting the mission before everything else" is not something he got out of, and that he tries to play it off like he does later on sais tons about his character. The Young Justice Dick is kinda unstable. I love it. 😏 Who else wants a Renegade arc (Or Court of Owls Arc) for Nightwing in season 3?

Its actually interesting how far a reaction he had since S2. In three, he barely gets attached, makes new teams on the fly and drops them when their done with the mission. Canary was heartbroken listening to Dick. Canary knows how bad life can get, but at the end of the day, Dick is just a 13 year old boy. And despite his age, he's also the most experienced member of the team. He's been doing this for about 5 years at this point,while Wally and Kaldur only started 2 years before joining the team. He has exponentially more trauma and knows how to deal with it better than any of the team. Canary was concerned seeing the kid who had survived so much finally cracking under the pressure of the mantle he was yet to inherit. But maybe she knew that he'd work through it on his own, as he always had.

Donn Jameson The show is pretty unisex in approach, so I can actually see why it would have high viewership with young girls. The actual issue is that despite high ratings, there were not enough young boys watching the show. The worth of a show like this is often measured with how many toys it can leverage to that demographic.

for those who dont know aqualad's session involved him saying he was the general but acted like a soldier and that he wanted to resign as leader bu withdrew his resignation cause the others weren't ready and he didnt want robin to shoulder the burden as leader. i dont think his decision was wrong but what do u think of the leader sacrificing himself and leaving his team. it was a win-lose situation for aqualad.

I've been in that situation before. Sometimes you want to be the hands on guy because you know that you can fit that role the best, and yet nobody else can replace you as the head. It makes you feel inadequate and gives you access to a pot of directionless wrath.

Kouya Williams That's the best psychology you can get. Nothing more important than the truth and the first step to getting better is admitting the problem. The issue is Bat Man isn't always right and majority of the time he's too stubborn. That's why I'd never want him as my psychologist.

Jonathan Perrin it was mostly because the team expanded more, so it was much harder to get these little in depth moments with each member of the team.

Yeah they never should have expanded as much as they did. They even introduced Bart already. Also it was a 5 year gap that was kind of offsetting as well. I was hoping for more of just the original team being the only really lead characters. With the exception of Zatanna, she was cool. Also we could have seen relationships like spitfire develop more. Just my thoughts.

Hasan Ates I agree. Season 2 was good, but Season 1 was absolutely phenomenal because of well-polished and cohesive the writing was. Not only did they add too many characters without giving each of them the right focus, but they also added too much of the spotlight to blue beetle.

I feel like Robin was the most traumatised and expressive of them all; displaying that he really doesn't want to grow up to be that 'I will do whatever it takes to save the world, even if it means letting the ones I love die along the way' leader, that he wants to express his emotions and not have to be so stubborn all the time. Superboy though, was the most disturbed at what he had felt and seen; knowing that at that current point in time, in his eyes he was not worthy of the shield on his chest, making him feel like he wasn't worthy to be a hero or even part of the team.

Connors confession really contrasts to Robin's. Both in the scenario had to step up and essentially become their mentors roles. But where as Robin felt the burden of actually being in the role of batman, making the hard decisions and doing everything for the "Mision". Conner found peace in achieving what he believed he was made for and died protecting his friends as Superman.

I like Black Canary's session with Miss Martian just as much as I like her session with Robin. To me, the session with M'gann and Canary works well, because they both admit how terrifying their powers really are at their full strength. Even M'gann who is normally happy and cheerful to be with the rest of the team is now vulnerable and ashamed of herself for messing up the exercise and that's why I like her so much.

The funniest thing is that what Robin didn't want to tell Batman, that he didn't want to be someone who sacrificed everything for the mission, is what would make Batman the happiest to hear. Batman doesn't want Robin to be *the* Batman either.

The body language is animated well here. Connor clenches his fists in anger, and later ashamed and tired of feeling as he does. Artemis closes in on herself to protect herself and hides her hands woth even her legs to keep her secret. Wally is avoiding, trying to literally flip everything on it's head and eating his emotions. Dick is open but also ashamed a bit of his feelings, feeling depressed, not wanting to look Dinah in the eye. M'gann is ashamed and a bit scared of herself, not wanting to make eye contact and without energy. Even her catchphrase seem lethargic. Kaldur wasn't included here, but he actually seems "ok" as far as emotions go. He's a bit down because he doesn't believe himself to be a good leader because he acted more like a soldier in his opinion.

When I watched this three years ago, a part of it never left me. Especially Robin's part. I couldn't tell what it was, but it haunted me. And now I'm finally beginning to see why. These things we have in our lives can seem so simple, but in reality, it's impact is huge. And while that's used to often display something positive, it can also be very negative too. These realizations we have can be as small as a paper cut, but sting like a thorn.

i think that the whole point is: Superboy managed to know who it does feel being superman DESPITE the death of everyone he loves. The whole happiness-thing comes from KNOWING the feeling of being like Superman, not being happy about everyone's death. He felt at peace because his biggest (and obsessed over) question was answered. Imagine if mankind got the answer to the meaning of life, what's in the afterlife(if it exists at all) and all that stuff...personally? i would feel good(because very often, i feel without a purpose, without a meaning, i'm just living, but without achieving stuff...i've no job, no meaningful relationships, never achieved on big stuff, always felt demotivated and passionless, like i'm waiting to die). Back on Superboy: He wanted AND FEARED to know how it does feel to be like Superman...he was at peace because that question was answered...even though the price was “high”(a telepathic simulation bust still...pretty much real for him) and once he got the answer, he felt bad, because he cares for those who "died" but the feeling of peace, was greater than the grief/sadness of his beloved ones' deaths so he feels "wrong" like "i shouldn't feel like this".

The psychology major in me is in love with this episode. The way that each character reacts so differently to pretty much the same events. Artemis tried to act tough in order to hide her vulnerability. Wally tried to pretend that he was fine because he's supposed to be the carefree one. Megan felt responsible and her confidence was destroyed. Superboy felt guilty about his own feelings and tried to push them down. Robin was the only one who opened up immediately and admitted how afraid and hurt he was.
