Garfish (Catch*Clean*Cook) Gar Patties With Crawfish Etouffee

In this video, I bring you guys along to catch Alligator Gar using a rod/reel. After a great day of catching gar, I show you guys how I clean, prepare and cook Gar patties. Years ago when I was a teenager, I'm 64 now, I helped my grandmother clean 14 gar just like what you have here. Except we did it with a big butcher knife and hammer! LOL From then on I told people how good gar meat was,, only to see them turn their noses up like I was crazy! Gar is the best kept secret swimming in the water! LOL! Beautiful white meat and delicious! We grilled and fried ours! Thanks for sharing your catch, clean, cook and EAT! MMMM

Man oh man....good eats. I asked for another Gar recipe and you gave us one. I made some a while back for gar burgers. A friend of mine that always said gar are trash fish and you cant eat them, had a burger....I waited till after he finished to tell him what it was. At first he didn't know if he wanted to hit me or get another burger. He did both..haha..no joke. He's slowly becoming a gar fish eater and I'm learning to avoid his jab to the ribs.

I am a sub and love all your videos. If you ever have an infestation of Asian carp in your LA waters, you are going to wish every one of those alligator gar were still swimming. Here on the TN River we are being advised to let the alligator gar go, as they are the chief predator of the carp. Still, I loved the video. Best wishes from TN !!!

we jug fish for catfish down here around Houma and a nice gar is a great bonus, we usually get a couple from 3 to 5 feet every year. make patties and vacuum seal them to enjoy all year. gonna have to try the etouffee on top lol looks great. love the down home content.

Who's this K Fred fella that you keep using his seasoning? Ever try A C Legg's seasoning? They have a seasoning for everything. I first tried their Prime Rib rub and have used several other's. Their sausage, venison pastrami, brat, kielbasa and several others are tremendous. Haven't tried them all as there are sooo many. Great looking balls you have there God Bless you Ken
