If you read between the lines of that scene, you can see an important distinction. When you miss a gaming sesh, you get an immediate summation to catch you up. When MacTuffins is out, we just give him a bunch of sh!t, hire a better Cleric, and manufacture a whole "explosive diarrhea" backstory to cover his absence.
