When I heard we were getting Gargoyles Remastered for review, I jumped at the opportunity to pick this one up. For one, I love the Gargoyles and I remembered loving a lot of parts of this game when I played it on Sega Genesis in 1995. I also remembered it being ridiculously hard, a product of a certain era of tough-as-nails Disney games. Gargoyles Remastered reaffirmed these memories. Not only is it a good-looking packaging of the original with a minty fresh art style, but it’s also a ridiculously difficult relic of a bygone gaming era, and I’m not even sure features like a rewind button make up for the frustration, trip down memory lane or not.
Gargoyles Remastered is, as it was the Sega Genesis, an origin story of sorts for main character Goliath. Players join the leader of the Gargoyles in a platforming action-adventure that runs from medieval times against Vikings into modern times versus magical machines. Goliath is chasing after an artifact known as the Eye of Odin, which empowers both living and non-living things alike with evil energy and he’ll use all of his strength and agility as a stone sentinel to destroy it for good.
One of the most easily noticeable features of this remastered version of the game is the new art style. Gargoyles Remastered is presented in a fresh, clean, and widescreen style that looks far more reminiscent of the Saturday morning cartoon series than the original art style was. I really liked seeing Goliath far closer to how I remember him in the show, and I also liked seeing much of the game’s original content revamped into that style, whether it was enemies or environments.

As far as I remember, Gargoyles NEVER got an SNES release, nor did Pochahontas. This being the developers had some work to do with the SNES port to make it more manageable between the superior sound chips and the default controls for the SNES having more buttons than the Sega Genesis. The challenges with the Lion King were apparently so big that the developers cancelled their SNES ports for Pochahontas and Gargoyles. Which is sad considering the SNES has better sound, and could better represent the game with more vibrant colors, and then there was Mode Seven to really make things go wild. I honestly would have really loved an SNES port of Gargoyles. The Genesis version I played on an emulator back in the day. Back before USB ports, and emulation was more about using dedicated ports on the back of the PC like with Windows 95. Now we can use USB adapters for existing controllers, which will always be a plus!

No reviews were out and I was dumb enough to buy it. Now the reviews are coming out but too late for me. Now I know why they kept the reviews top secret.

I mean it really doesn't deserve AS much of the negativity as it's getting. The game isn't even BAD, it's just kinda mid and mediocre at worst. Really the only understandable bit of contention is just over the price that it's asking.

I haven’t played Gargoyles on the Genesis back then and it was way ahead of its time just like the animated series that I still continue to adore to this day and I have the two seasons of Gargoyles on DVD. I read the reviews for Gargoyles Remastered on Metacritic and well…the world gets a little mad sometimes. It was an okay game, the biggest complaint was the lack of visuals and not even bringing back the original cast (R.I.P. Ed Asner AKA Hudson) to lend their voice work for the game. A 6/10 is the right score.

In Hunter's Moon, Pat 3, at the hospital, Eliza Maza, Matt Bluestone and Captain Maria Chavez looked at the folders with the photos of Jason, Robyn and Jon Canmore, known as Jason Conover, Robyn Correy and Jon Carter, if Captain Chavez asked Elisa to put out those police files of Conover, Carter and Correy, known as Canmore of the Hunters, so she held her folders with those photos of Jason, Jon and Robyn.

How do you change from different renders on the graphics?

It's a simple button press.

@shacknews But what button on a PC, have a steam controller and I look in the settings for the game and it didn't say anything about changing old graphics to the new animated look.

@@dakarasbishop81 It should be one of the top shoulder buttons. Essentially R1 on a Playstation controller or RB on an Xbox controller.
