Thanks so much, Sean. My garlic arrived yesterday, along with a few other goodies. Picking it up today, so to say I'm excited is an understatement. So much info in this vid, really appreciative. I've been using Frass on a variety of fruiting plants during vegetative stage and for me what stands out is the plants defense mechanism (activated by the presence of Chitin in the droppings and exoskeletons of insects present in the Frass) that kicks in, naturally deterring pests... with the added benefit of increasing the plants nitrogen and Carbon uptake.

Thanks for this. I have bought a couple times from you but haven't had any luck. They basically rot. Any words of wisdom for hot, humid Durban with the added bonus of torrential rains in spring too? Garlic chives rather :)?

Can wood sawdust be used as mulch? We have a local pallet manufacturing facility which sells bags of sawdust for cheap

Yes. With one provision. Do Not Dig It In! Sawdust makes a great mulch, but digging it in will cause a nitrogen lockout.

I have garlic to plant in containers in my bsckyatd but I am just wondering, the sun in Bloemfontein is still very hot, should I wait for month ènd or can I plant now

Wait until month end. Also use light coloured pots. Dark one heat up.
