Finally. A video using a clothes steamer. I can’t afford a facial steamer either.

I have very similar hair and love to do a steam refresh! I had never thought, however, to put it on something low, like a toilet, so I can just hang my head in front of it! After trying it, I find it also seems to get to the roots better, which equals more volume. Thanks for the idea!

I tried using the steamer before and didn't think my hair turned out great. Tried it today with this video and I'm loving the results! I put it on my sink - my hair is shoulder length.

Hahah. Yes! The work out and the nerves associated with creating this video. You never know if they’ll be well received or not. 🥰

I appreciate your video! I purchased a steamer much like yours - was looking for an alternative to the expensive Q-Redo and facial steamers. While I do get increased curl and definition from the steam with day 2/3 hair, I am also noticing a lot of frizz. I had the same result when using a steamy shower for a refresh. This makes sense, right? Moisture and humidity can cause frizz. How do you use your steamer and not get frizz?? (I do feel the steamer is very hot. I have seen videos where they use a facial steamer that can do both hot/warm steam and cold steam, using the cold to seal in the style at the end. Thoughts?)

I have not completely figured that one out myself yet. I do have better luck when I use anti-humidity products on day 1, then use a bit more of that product on my hair before I steam. I use praying hands to apply the product in an effort to help the frizz lay down and join a curl clump. I will also sometimes use an anti-humidity hairspray (not CGM approved I know). I hope those ideas help! Thank you for your comment. 💜
