GARMIN FORERUNNER 35 - WRISTBAND REPLACEMENT

Jeeze! My screws did not come out THAT easily. In fact on my brand new garmin the screws were stripping! And when I did get 2 screws off one side the band DID NOT just pull off.

Same here. I am not able to take the band off. I didn't want to force it, it was not moving at all :(

My Forerunner 35 doesn't have screws or the thing on the watch the screws screw into. Is there some sort of adapter kit for it?

Are these the 20mm bands on the garmin website ? because garmin says they are no bands comparable with the 35?

The bands didn't come off at first. It took a little pull/yank at the base of the watch to remove the band. Came right off after that. Keep the OEM screws. The ones with the new bands didn't fit so used the OEM screws. Everything cool now!

Can you describe the pull/yank thing? Because I tried wiggling it off, applying pressure on either end but it wouldn't let up. I noticed that OP wasn't using the original band in the beginning, and that's probably why he didn't need to show how to get it to come off.

@@topchelff If you watch 1:03 - 1:07, you'll see the band is attached to the base at an angle. With the watch face facing left and the clasp on top, tug the band at a 45 degree angle. It's tight at first, but it will come off.

Thank for infroming me about the pull yank. The only reason I even looked up how to replace the band was that I didn't know why the band wasn't coming off. Thank you.

Had lots of trouble getting new screws in. Read your comment about using the original screws, they worked straight away.

I can’t find anything on replacing the wristband of the forerunner 30 online. Are the wristbands that you can buy online for the 35 also compatible with the forerunner 30?

Not within guarantee period, I managaed to glue the band back onto the white interface piece. The band is silicone-based and the interface a polycarbonate material. Initially failed with super glue (cyanoacrylate) and plastic glue (butanone AKA methyl ethyl ketone), but succeeded with a two component epoxy glue (bisfenol A/F and tetramethyl bis(aminoethyl) ether) after on overnight curing at room temperature. Happy running.

i also had the same problem after removing the screws. i then went online to Garmin and they said DO NOT REMOVE THE BANDS so i got scared and returned the band.

I pull band inside, hear “click” and its removed - for a firs time with original band, after with nonoriginal its goes easy.

Nick Kephala hi! No, dont pull it. If you notice the video he uses his middle finger and puts pressure from the outside to the inside of the watch. It justs need a little pressure dont get afraid of it. But dont pull, press to the inside. Notice 0:56

Now if you manage to release the old strap, i advise you to be very carefull with the alignment of the holes of the new strap with the holes on the body of the watch. Im my case when i was putting the first screw i notice that i was hurtin the body of the watch near its hole. So make sure perfect allignment in order that the screw enters. Its not hard, try it!
