thanks for that. I didn't realize you could select hiking from all the activities and compare all your hikes! Nice.

So, I did a hike and it didn't work properly. After the hike I went to check my data and it was messed up... - Started at 50m elevation and peak was at 650m. Yet, my total ascent shows 200m, and my total descent shows around 550m. - The watch goes in an out when you have the auto pause enabled. I start my hike and immediately it pauses because I am stopped, but when I start to move it unpauses and pauses again and then unpauses. Gets annoying. Happens every time. - I ended up turning off auto pause and thought I could manually pause the hike, but then the whole time data is wrong. Says it took me 1hr 15min to reach summit when it was actually 2hrs 15min. Same with the descent, same data. - My GPS map was also a bit messes up, there was a part where it was completely off course to where I was. Whats going on?

The temperature is from your body. Many people think it doesn't work right. Remember, it's a survival watch. God forbid you get lost in the snow or desert, you won't really care the outside temperature but knowing your body temp is necessary. Awesome info btw 👍

The instructions state: remove the watch so your body temp does not effect the measurement of the outside air temp.

OMG information overload. I have the same watch and I love it but man I didn't know there was so much more to this watch. I feel like I need to take a college course on how to set everything up the way that I want it 😂. Thank you for the video.

@@CoastieOutdoors hey you're very welcome. I did find the video very useful and helpful but I had one question. I did this pretty challenging hike in the Catskills. It was a hike up Hunter mountain to the fire tower which is 4 miles up at a very steady incline and then obviously 4 miles back down but my watch said that I only did 4.6 0 miles. Do you know what the reason for that could be? I'd really like to get the most of this watch since it is a good chunk of change for it. There's so much to learn about it and I like that.

Apparently, the temperature sensor is near your hot body skin, that's why the numbers seems to be false.
@nachot65923 жыл бұрын
No, the slower-faster sets the colors depending on your higher and lower speeds for the monitored activity. The hiking app has way more to it than the video shows; it actually shows a map, you can trackback on that map, you can follow a saved route, etc.

Hi Nacho, thank you for your comment. You are absolutely right! If there is anything you would like to see specifically, I may do a longer video which is more of a deep dive. Thanks again, and have a great day!

Is there a way of seeing the steps you have done on your hike?

Hi there, thanks for the video. Would you be able to use your phone to view the maps on the app with your exact watch location even if you had no phone signal? In other words, would this watch be good if you got completely lost in the middle of nowhere with no cellphone signal? I know it does a breadcrumb route to walk back the way you came but I would want to continue. Many thanks
@greentransmission3 жыл бұрын
I believe you can load a route in advance and it can guide you around it. There are videos on YT about how to do it. Excited to get this watch this week ;)

The slow/fast gradients on the map is relative to the spped you are moving at the activity you are on and not based on the comparisons of other people/what Garmin think is fast
@CoastieOutdoors2 жыл бұрын
Hi Wari, thank you for clarifying that point! That makes sense and I am glad that is the case. As always I appreciate your insight and taking the time to leave a comment. I hope you have a great day!

Can you exit hike app to check the current time and the app is still working?
@CoastieOutdoors3 жыл бұрын
Hi Tomasz, you can! You can select the bottom right back button to exit the app and still have it working. You can also select the bottom left and it will show you the time of day while staying in any app.

I went for a hike yesterday for nearly two hours... Only the timer worked. Never changed the distance I traveled. And when I tried to save it, it never worked. The battery actually died overnight while it was trying to save the hike. Any ideas?
