Thank you for actually showing how the GPS system works on this watch this is exactly what I needed I’m I first time user with this watch I don’t have the tactical just the instinct solar. But I’m a avid Mushroom picker here were I live on the Oregon coast being a mushroom hunter your always looking at the ground and following the flushes of the mushroom’s so it is really easy to get turned around in a lot of different directions in the woods you are not familiar with. This watch will help take all of the doubt of with way my truck or ATV is at. We just had a fellow picker got lost a 70 year old Asian lady out of Crescent City Cal. It’s been about two weeks she’s been missing we usually get one to two a year some outcomes good some bad. It is very very easy to get turned around were you think is the right way isn’t the right way I’m pretty familiar with my area I live in but there are times I have to scratch my head to get back to my starting point. This will help take a lot of doubt and let me got further in the forest. Thanks for the video very helpful and have some safe journeys out there…

Thank you for your kind words.Your absolutely welcome. You don’t need the tactical version to do all of the GPS tracking coordinates. In other words to get you back to your original location. Stay still when you are acquiring satellites, you should also remain still once acquired, for a minute or so, before pressing the Save button. This makes the watch fine tune its' position (you will see the coordinates keep moving and then gradually settling down) this is known as "averaging" That way, when you returned to your Jeep, the distance remaining would have been a lot less, probably 30 feet or better.

I just ordered the lichen camo model on sale for $350, I really liked the tactical in the moss green, but I couldn't justify the extra cost for a few extra features that I will probably never use. @@jeepthings8875 as you say - time will tell, but after doing some of the research there are quite a lot very good brands out there which manufacture tactical or military watches with hardened plastic/polymer resin base and they hold up pretty good, so fingers crossed Garmin will not fail in this.
