I finally got my Garmin Striker 4CV the other day, along with a Nocqua battery, and these instructions were spot on. You simplified everything and, most importantly, you showed up close where things go. It literally takes less than 5 minutes to get it set up and completed. I love your useful videos.

Do you place the nocqua in a watertight box or anything? Love your tutorial and followed it to a T, just trying to sort out now what to do with the exposed wire area past the fuse holder. Was planning to separately tape blue/brown for future data transfer needs, and then use electrical tape over the exposed wires. Thanks!

I do not use a box for anything, the battery is already sealed. I just shrink wrap and tape the exposed wire areas...also look at the liquid electrical tape as it works great as well.

Hey brotha. Was wondering if you can help. Setting up my striker 4 its giving me a message of the transducer is disconnected, power down and check transducer connection to enable sonar. Im confused bc everything is connected. Do you know what it could be?
@1Cast1Fish
@1Cast1Fish Жыл бұрын
So here is some things to try 1. Ensure Power cord and transducer cords are in correct spots on fish finder 2. Check transducer input on fishfinder has no bent or broken pins 3. Ensure transducer cable is fully inserted into fishfinder. 4. Possible transducer issue

Yeah the Lithium are fine and know tons that run the big ones on their boats without issue. They definitely save space and weight. I would agree to stay away from the tool battery route, it works for some, but not worth it for me IMO

How do you find the thermocline in the water column with a striker 4 vivid?
@1Cast1Fish
@1Cast1Fish 23 күн бұрын
So first you have to have a thermocline...many bodies of water do not. Next it will look like a thin line of clutter in the water column and many times you will see increased clutter below this line as well but not always. Fish should be above the thermocline.

@1Cast1Fish

The battery is about 125.00 I use Velcro or small bungees on my kayak...even have just left it sitting in the floor. I would say it takes 2-6 hours charge time depending on how low. As far as models, depends on your needs. Down Imaging? Mapping? Contour lines? Lakes? Rivers, Streams and Creeks?

So depends on the wire...some may already be stripped back a bit...look at about 1:46 this is what it should look like, if not then you need to strip back the insulation to expose the bare wire. I have used a lighter, torch, and honesty the best is a heat gun...just be careful and use slow even heating.

amzn.to/4coWAjT This is the crimper I use, it is a bit expensive, but it is a good reference. You can see the pics that the jaws have color codes...these match the crimp colors...they are all a standard. Honestly if you have no other need, any crimper will work just to crimp it down a few times.

I don't get why the garmin striker does not comes with a built in battery and a usb charger port, see I am going to brazil for fishing, and everything there is 220Volts unless I also get a transformer, I won't be able to charge the nocqua battery, so just to use the fish finder in brazil I need the divice, a battery and a 220v to 110v transformer, they should make the fish finder with a built in battery and a usb port charge, just like every phone. so this way I can charge anywhere in the world.
