In general, the TI units are faster in response to inputs. This is seen when quickly switching between sonar, downscan, chart, and split screens kzbin.infoUgkxeAxH15LxhjGlg5-CRYqjTGTEH0tbY4vk recommend The Hook units will show some lag on button pushes and screen switching. The big ticket item though is maps. If you install a mapping card such as Navionics or the free C-Map Genesis which has a lot of map detail, then moving around the map with the cursor or when running down the lake can lag significantly on the Hook units, but is seamless with the TI units.

It does show fish very well with Clear Vu. You need to make some adjustments.

@@fishsyaffairs3474sensitivity, brightness and contrast need to be adjusted on the water for the best image of fish, bottom and vegetation. You just kind of play with it to see what's best for you. Just so you know, it will show fish on Clearview without making any adjustments. You just have to practice with it so you know what you're looking at.

I just got a 2021 black foot inflatable kayak. In your opinion do you think the size of this unit too big for a 13 foot kayak? Thanks

I use mine on a little 10ft kayak. So I do think that it would be to big. I am not familiar with that kayak however.

Curious if you need to purchase a lakemaps card to do contours on a bunch of different lakes, or does it just give you a few lakes?

It gives you no contour data and there is no option to buy it as an addition the only way to get the maps would be to go out and make the maps yourself.

Does this model have the ability to go back through the sonar history and mark a waypoint? for example, could you have placed a waypoint on that tree if you had drifted 40ft away from it, and scrolled back and found it again?

You can scroll back on the sonar a little bit but I am not sure exactly how far.

Does that work with your minn Kota? Does it use the transducer on that at all?

My minn Kota does not have a built in transducer and I am pretty sure that you will have to use the Garmin transducer for it to work.
