I have same graph but with a Scotty mount .... I'd never put screws driven into bottom of kayak, there's constant pressure, movement and shifting in plastic when paddling or heck ... Even just sitting in water. Yes, putting silicone is a temporary fix but it's a band aid fix.

Just watched this years later and I wanted to point out that the mounting position you have this in is perfect for down imaging and traditional sonar but your side imaging is suffering for it. Side imaging requires the transducer to be below the vessel in order to get the best image.
@BassSniperАй бұрын
That’s interesting. It makes sense that it wouldn’t get full coverage there but I don’t feel like I’ve missed out much. Probably just used to it. Thanks for pointing that out though!
@thomasschimmeyer8715Ай бұрын
@@BassSniper You will see the black area go down by about a third or so and the clarity on the sides will go up greatly. You will feel like you got a new machine most likely! I ran my transducer cable through a pvc pipe and had a 3d printer at library make a mounting plate with an opening the cord fits through that connects to the pipe. Then ran that through another pvc pipe it just fits through. Dremel a slot in the outer sleeve pipe and put a few screws through to the inner and you keep it pointed the right direction. A simple pulley from menards and some para cord and it goes up and down great.

Sold that one and got one that was livescope ready.. livescope is the best thing thouhg.. if u want to catch big fish.. Id spend a bit more to get a screen that can atleast do it.. lots of lvs32 ducers going on the second hand market now when people are upgrading.. more and more..

In general, the TI units are faster in response to inputs. This is seen when quickly switching between sonar, downscan, chart, and split screens kzbin.infoUgkxeAxH15LxhjGlg5-CRYqjTGTEH0tbY4vk recommend The Hook units will show some lag on button pushes and screen switching. The big ticket item though is maps. If you install a mapping card such as Navionics or the free C-Map Genesis which has a lot of map detail, then moving around the map with the cursor or when running down the lake can lag significantly on the Hook units, but is seamless with the TI units.
