Like most these GPS units, they rarely make it over a few years before going inoperable. I recently updated, 8/9/21, the software and the entire device went nuts. No longer shows traffic, weather, or any data of the sort. Continuously shows me off roading on the map. GPS accuracy is consistently over 100ft. I’ve reset it, factory reset it, and master reset it. Nothing fixes it anymore. This leads me to believe that Garmin pulls an Apple and introduces code to disable old devices.

Picked Up my Dezl OTR1000 and the Garmin 64W Dash Cam and today is the first day in use for both! Love the past Trucker's Garmin products I've owned so I'm excited to put some hours on this new set-up. Thanks Garmin! Sure wish Garmin offered a rear cam that could be activated at will and would broadcast 75+FT so that us larger rig drivers could see when necessary to the rear.

Just ordered a dzel 800. Hope it works well in New Zealand. Have a 65 which is proving OK. Went away from tomtom as they are proving to be more difficult to deal with. Can't find any store that sells them.

Does this GPS allow truckers to leave comments on available truck parking? For example, if there are many spots open, some spots, or if the parking lot is full?

The backup camera says it will transmit up to 45 feet. Most of us are running 48 or 53 foot trailers plus the sleeper, so I would think it would need to transmit more like 75 feet away. Has anyone tried it on their rig? Did it actually work?

I have an issues with otr700 I bought it from the US does that mean I can only use in the USA or there is a way that I can download the latest map for the Canadian roads I cross regularly into the US so mostly I will be using for us but also once in a while in Canada and I would like the garmin members to assist me on these issues

When I use my OTR800 without magnet stand the screen going in sleep mode. How to prevent that, because I use only the usb power cord?

Thank you for your comment and question. The OTR800 must be powered through the magnetic mount to prevent the screen going into sleep mode. Plugging directly into the device using a USB cable will cause the device to think it's plugged into alternate power/a computer. No, unless you don't mind getting truck routs. That's why it's called dezl referring to tall diesel trucks with long trailer. But they do have car alternatives

@@alvarohernandez2764 yup. While it is designed for trucks, it can be configured for cars, without route warnings. I actually use that mode sometimes when i know where i am going does not have truck restrictions but for some reason the gps thinks there are restrictions, either because of an old restriction that was removed or because it is not a known truck route.

Can you use the Garmin Voice Studio with this product still? I spent hours recording a cool voice on a voice modulator, and downloaded GVS from internet, would like to buy one for OTR, but trying to find one where I can customize voice.

Is it just my unit, or does the OTR series not have verbal navigation directions? ("In 500 yards, turn left.") I've got "Navigation" volume all the way up and have never heard it tell me a direction.

Thank you for your question. The dezl OTR700, OTR800, and OTR1000 are essentially the same unit, just with a different size display. They function the same and have the same battery life. There are a few minor differences in the OTR700 though, such as the display resolution being 1024 x 600, no dual-orientation, no magnetic mount or 1" adapter with AMPS plate. I've got the 700 and it's full of issues with directing me consistently on to unsuitable roads. Pop ups happen way to much and the Europe truck parking is not removable... I don't want it there. You need to add "most suitable" urgently to your navigation choices. Fastest and straight line are simply not fit for purpose with a truck

Thank you for your question. To use these features the dezl OTR units must be connected to the Garmin Drive App, downloaded to your compatible smartphone. It then communicates to your smartphone via Bluetooth. Fuel price content comes from user-generated sources via a third-party provider.

These things are horrible with cities. Why must it be so hard to select a city in "where to" and get a rough calculation to it? It should have a cities tab in where to. You have to hit the current city scroll down to a different city and once its selected it gives no option for a quick go to. It's a complete headache. I upgraded from a 465T nuvi and was hoping it would do the same. But nope. The otr wants you to select a different city and punch in an address only or spend an eternity moving the map and it's so difficult to add other stops giving no time estimates to other stops. The nuivi I can hit where to, punch in the city get a rough time calculation and add more cities as stops to get a time breakdown. The otr dosen't give any time estimates for your second stop or 3rd or 4th and so on. I had to bring out the nuvi just to get the cities and stop estimates back so I can plan my breaks. Please put cities in where to and let other stops show an estimate on the next software update on the otr. It's a trucking gps and should be better setup that way and should be easier to use like the nuvi without having to stress out and get in a accident because you cant select a city in where to.

It's not that great I bought when they did not hit the truck stop yet and I am not impressed with it at all the price Garmin is charging for 10 inch otr1000 is ridiculous 800USDD or 1159CAD in my unboxing and indepth videos I'm not impressed at all though some of the locations of the truck stops existing for last 2 years in GARMIN OTR1000 they are not to be found plus Android Tablet no use resolution not good enough for any video watching its 720p my phone shows 4k so nothing great about new Garmin OTR 1000 AT LET US DOWNLOAD SOME OTHER TRUCKING Apps.
