I lived in Garner for a while. I also drove school bus for the area from 2001 to 2003. I can say that the children that I drove daily was a real treat and well behaved bunch of students. The parents were very involved with the community and schools. Love Lake Benson area.

This is a no-brainer. I LOVE my town. Why? The people. Simple as that. Whether our government leaders, Chamber of Commerce, Parks & Rec, or GPAC gatherings, add to that the local business and faith communities, Garner really is a GREAT place to be! We are an #AllAmericaCity :)

I have lived in Garner since 1953 and it sure has changed, but it has always been in a good way. I have always been proud to say I am from Garner. Of course, I would have to tell people exactly where Garner was. That is not the case now. I hope Garner continues to be a Hometown and not just a Town. Love Garner and all it has to offer.

Born and raised in Garner and couldn't love it more!! :) I was just at Lake Benson a few days ago enjoying the new Veterans Memorial. Its beautiful. The church he showed I've sang in many times with Garner Chorus! Lord knows I miss it. If only I could go back to high school for a week and do another choral concert...I would be the happiest girl alive. lol

Garner is my Hometown for more than 30 years and even though with my job I could live anywhere I want, I continue to choose to live here because it is a great small-town with lots of friendly people! I love Garner - Scotty is just one great example of the character of the people here. A great "All-American" city! :)

I love Garner, NC. After serving in the US Military for 12 years and living in various places around the world I never thought I could love one place and settle down there. I get to serve this great community by volunteering at ELEOS Community Outreach Center in Garner. ELEOS reaches out to at risk youth, low income families and others to introduce them to Dance, Music Lessons, Art, Tutoring and provide free food to families, as well as free school supplies. Garner is a great place!

I like garner nc the real garner nc not all this new suburban fancy neighborhood big shopping center crap they have built outside of downtown but the original garner and as far as im concerned that new devolopment crap may be city limits technically but i dont even consider all of that new shit they have built garner the real garner is the old section
@stevencharles95348 жыл бұрын
Garner is the epitome of suburbia. Small town living with nothing to do.
@lordhelmit14998 жыл бұрын
Nothing to do? Oh brother. Maybe if you're a boring person. At least there are some bars and places to catch music. Move to Cabot, Arkansas - a suburb of Little Rock with a population of 27k (same as Garner) and then tell me how awful Garner is.

All the livable land is gerrymandered around main road and TINY lot sizes. The vast majority or the manufacturing and construction that put garner on the map is GONE (no real jobs/careers) City council and the "progressive" millennials have outright striped the grass roots from this town over the past 5 years, all in order to make room for political correctness and biased interest's. any hope to find a preserved TRUE southern small town community can be found further down south, NOT central NC. The agriculture, arbor culture, and botany industry has been ravaged from the area to make room for illogical and frivolous liberal arts and theatrical culture. NC has one of; if not the richest bio-diversity for plant/fungus species in north america and nobody realizes this crucial aspect of the land we live on. This is sheerly because the non-existent sense of communication and community, as well as the outright unwillingness of the residents to learn local knowledge... the homeless problem is also abundantly clear. I moved here at 20 and now im 22.. 2 years of living here and experiencing garner for what it really is and my only impression is sadly, disappointment. I despise the direction MY OWN generation is taking this once great town AND nation. whether you agree or not is beside the point, because THIS is the reality of garner.
@lordhelmit14998 жыл бұрын
Misguided anger. Has nothing to do with "progressive millenials" and everything to do with the fact that Garner is extremely close to Raleigh, which is one of the fastest growing cities in the country. The Triangle is one of the fastest growing metros in the country. As a result, "arbor culture and botany industry" are indeed going to be torn down to put up apartments, strip malls and subdivisions. This is not unique to Garner and is not a result of millenials. The same thing is happening in Apex, Holly Springs, Fuquay Varina, Clayton, Knightdale. It already happened to Cary and Morrisville.
