How to Remove the REAR HUB MOTOR on a Ziggy G5 (Yadea G5) Electric Scooter "Electric Moped"

The Ziggy G5 is an electric scooter from the electric scooter manufacturer Yadea. It is sold by Ziggy as an "electric moped" and features a 2300W Electric Motor built into the rear wheel which makes removing it more complicated than a standard gasoline powered scooter.
The electric motor has long thick wires that transfer the current from the motor controller to the motor. These wires will need to be disconnected for the wheel to be removed from the scooter for any reason. You may need to remove the back wheel to replace the internal hub motor. Or you may just need to replace the rear tire like in this case.
The the tools you will need are: 10mm socket, number 1 phillips screwdriver, 8mm socket, 21mm socket and a ratchet or socket driver.

I'm happy that you keep saying this part over again that the people that work on these things aren't smarther than you. It shows how great your personality is! Many shops always try to act like it's super difficult to do tasks while in reality most of the stuff mechanics do isn't hard at all! They try to discourage you to do the repairs yourself so they can work on your bike or whatever your brought in and than you invest in their time repairing it. I'm glad that you are one of the very few that don't show this toxic behaviour.

The "mounting tabs" are more commonly called torque arms as they help prevent the axle from just spinning in place. Definitely take care not to crush or damage the wire where it exits the motor. While the phase wires can take a bit of damage the hall sensor wires are surprisingly fragile.

Hi, and really love this video !!!! I bought this scooter second hand and I'm thinking of replacing the controller and display ... this is the only video so far I found on this model. Where can I find service manuals to dis-assemble and re-assemble the scooter , or for example the display at least? Is there a manual available indicating the different wires ? The motor controller is the unit in the back of the bike that gets disconnected in this video. All you would need to do is remove the rest of the wire connectors and swap in a new unit.

Understood. My issue is that I see a “wrench” when I turn on the scooter and then there is no power. I heard it is a controller issue, probably bad controller although the controller was changed 6 mths ago.
