In all honesty I know Brandon is a very honest person. I'm glad he came clean on this. Now we all know why we received our vortex in a unfinished version. I'm definitely looking forward to the update. I'm sure it will be a great machine once it's done!

So for me thats unfortunate.. i know guys who had one chance to buy a 4,5,6 hundred dollar machine as there go to.. and to be convinced by the guys they watch on youtube and feel like what those guys say about a machine is true.. then they pull the trigger on this machine and its junk.. coulda bought one of the other big three and gotten a machine 10 times better…but now they are stuck with a vortex…

I started with the AT Pro. It did really well for me. I’m on a Deus 2 now. I’ll probably never take Garrett seriously as much more than a beginner machine. It finds relics, there’s an assortment of coils, I cleaned out a spot with it. I broke 2 cuffs, broke the shaft, the unit is held on with hose clamps, 2nd set of headphones quit working. In my opinion Garrett is good starter and capable detector up to a certain point. I can’t take them seriously though.

My first detector was a garrett ace 250 , I've never bought another garrett detector. The best thing to come out of the garrett factory was the garrett " carrot " pinpointer.

3-4 days ago Garrett's website show they were hiring for "firmware" engineer in career section bottom of page !! Today when i looked its gone , nothing under career's , Hopefully they got someone to fix the vortex for Garrett's sake ????

Well... Lots of Garrett users are blind and don't want to look anywhere else and are still convinced that Garrett is big in the industry.. Lots of them are kind of disconnected with the reality of today's market and what kind of features are important because all they know is simple and rudimentary machines.

CD, thanks for all the work you've done on the Vortex. This is sure a sad and unfortunate release of a product from Garrett. Even the release of the Apex was not this bad. The Apex was usable from the start, and only took one update to address issues. A Vortex that reboots itself when trying to shut it off is a pretty good indication that something is amiss in the code. Perhaps D/C further testing of the Vortex until they fix the glaring issues and return the unit to your dealer for a refund. Maybe circle back to testing the Vortex once they have it more refined. Geez....

Once the detector and software are made available to public the entire detector is fair game to be tested and criticized. Guess the testers (pre release testers) wouldn’t show after public release. There isn't but 2 reasons. (1)-Garrett knew of the flaws, and released it anyways (for profit). Or (2) the issues were never found and/or reported to Garrett. I'm going to go with #2. As i really don't think Garrett would release a flawed detector or purpose. I do think they we in a hurry to release the detector. And maybe the testing wasn't very thorough. (Most likely)

That's why I wait a year or longer to purchase any new machine coming from any one of these metel detecting companies including Minelab ,Xp, and Garrett ,Nokta ... Everyone wants a machine right away but in reality great machines take about 1 to 1.5 yrs.. to perfect the software.... Garrett's fault for releasing the machine too soon.As long as they keep up with good updates that Excell the performance all will be good... Even after 2 yrs a machine can not be complete ...I say it's definitely a PLUS for Calabash the Digga to get his hands on this Vortex to test it...Now just wait and see how the machine progresses !

You’re holding that $599 machine in your hands because Garrett jumped the gun on this one! They shouldn’t have announced it early like they did! (It wasn’t even close to being ready) And… they shouldn’t have released it late like they did! (It’s still not close to being ready.) In my opinion, what Garrett needed to do is get it ready and then release it. Even if it was later than Garrett wanted. Now they have so much negative press that it will hurt sales. Botched launch in my opinion. I’ll be waiting until they get the bugs worked out… If they can even get the bugs worked out? And then maybe I’ll spend my hard earned money and try one.

All I can say is wow, I was really hoping the vortex would be a hit because several years back the at pro was my favorite detector had lots of fun with it for a few years but had to change when the multi frequency came out. What really gets me is they knew of these problems before they released it and still sold it knowing so they have lost my trust now and as much as I liked garrett I'll never buy their brand again no matter how good it gets.

So supposedly the early testers found all of the quirks let's say. Okay so then they release the unit without all of these things being corrected because they know about them all. That all opens the next question is why didn't they fix them and for sure did they find 100% of what you other guys have shown? I just want to see Garrett do what they should be able to do and come out of this in a really positive way. Top this machine off the best they can with what it is right now after its complete tear into the next build and make it as good as the other machines out or even better. That was a fun intro for this video. Lol. Thank you

Yep let's put to market a metal detector that is basically unusable and then we'll hire somebody down the road to try to come up with a software program that can fix the problems. This should have never left the factory for one for two the testing people should not have been arguing with anyone they should have kept their damn mouth shut now they look stupid for going after other people that were questioning what Garrett was doing due to the very very very delayed release. So now the original testers who have their names on this and Garrett look really dumb in the eyes of many. How dare Garrett release a product that was not ready for consumer use.

Simple conclusion; Garrett is like all other greedy companies today. Build something, incur cost to develop, send them out by the 1,000’s to distributors, the people like us (suckers trust the machine is perfect, or darn close if they release it. Reality, it’s working, but we’ll recoup our development costs, then CBD and friends will work the bugs out, (at no charge), THEN THEY START TRYING TO FIX IT, I’m not buying anything new until it’s been out, companies get it right, not doing their bidding, anymore.

The top brass @ Garrett have been listening to the wrong people !! These testers are actually making Garrett look bad !! They would be gone in my opinion and new people/testers hired, Garrett upper brass should be making apologetic statement and not these testers arguing with independent testers that are just trying to improve the machine !!

3 days on the beach problem .It was calling 6 inch Nickels iron. treasure finder 66 found the beach problem on the gulf coast. I found another bug...They are fast....

I also know another Garrett schill who on one of his videos said the apex was amazing and this would be the machine he uses from now on never to touch it again only uses the Max starts with a A. Its on one of his videos 😂. Garrett has great customer support and friendly reps and thats were it ends.
