Your friend is a puppet just like Lsu's president. They are no more than a body for a photo op. No decision making authority none what so ever. They are there due to poor race relations at lsu as well as the city of BR. Not sure where u got ur data regarding the payment for hbcu bands. If you knew anything about SU, we were and will continue to be fine without the 💵 from a PWI. Not sure what HBCU band directors your referring to in regards to pay. Their arrangements were way beyond schools like Ohio state and Michigan. There are a lot of independent arrangers who sell arrangements and LSU is nice. They can play with Southern Cal who is real nice BUT Southerns arrangements to me ,when it comes to R&B are the best in Marching Band and the Dolls stepped up the groove with the Routine tonite. I'm a college drummer from back in 81.....I agree, and that's why I gave the 1st round to LSU. There were sections in SU's 1st selection where I thought the drum line sounded confused and garbled....but still, the Jukebox is, and will always be my favorite band

I remember back in the day in the 90's there was a time where big white school bands didn't respect HBCU bands. They would say we were too loud and not precise on the field, but we ALWAYS owned halftime when we showed up in their stadiums and the crowd loved it. It's interesting to see them do joint performances, play signature songs in our library and even start to sound like us now. Even though we didn't seek respect, the culture has shown to get it anyway. Eargasms from both sides..this was a nice 5th quarter!

Truth! Believe that the racists on the LSU sites were still disrespecting SU pregame! Many LSU fans were saying that si nce this game was scheduled up until SU "tore a hole in their a** on national television last night!!

It wasn’t the lack of respect, it was the unknown on BOTH sides of trying to compare the 2 differing styles. Those fiberglass sousaphones sounded awful. The full sounds of brass changed the sound of HBCU bands for the better.

After Southern 2nd song LSU was like man we got to play everything… but on another note This really puts it into perspective of how little value PWCs place on the band that stadium is completely empty for the 5th quarter
@bennieficial_95792 жыл бұрын
PWIs don’t do 5th quarters. That’s why. I doubt they knew it was gonna happen. Hell, the director probably didn’t know either until probably halftime then the idea was probably proposed then
@ASmith-ic3uz2 жыл бұрын
@@bennieficial_9579 I know... I went to a SWAC school...was just pointing out the difference of how we do that and they don't. Just like at halftime. They are going to the concession...we are sitting still and will catch the concession stands in the third quarter
@bennieficial_95792 жыл бұрын
@@ASmith-ic3uz Oh yeah. We go to HBCU football games for the music, not the football 😌 I went to the Florida Classic many times. And a couple of TxSouthern and PVAMU games. The crowd gets way more excited for her bands than for big plays in the football game. And I’m sure it’s like that at every HBCU.

As an LSU SOM Grad, have nothing but love and respect for the Golden Band. That said, mad props for the sound and spirirt of our brothers and sisters from Southern...fantastic! Thanks for sharing!
