Yes Southern still handled business with just half their band there. Thats not an excuse. Its simply facts. TC has a good band they just started to play boring songs like Billy Ocean and George Michael after around 18 minutes. TC best song was the first one they played. It went downhill after that. SU made their point and left. TC band Director is a Southern man himself so naturally he felt the need to model TC band out of the #1 rated band, thats Southern.

Hbcu bands are diverse. You have your concert style sounding bands like Famu, Bethune, Grambling, and a few others. You have bands that focus on halftime shows. (although in the SWAC that's all but gone with the exception of Grambling and a couple of others). And then you have the power style bands that Southern has made very popular. This is a "bloody" battle between the jukebox, who've inherited the power style as their own, and an upstart TC band trying to upend SU at their own game. I'd say they're certainly doing a good job of imitating SU, but I've yet to see them differentiate themselves as an original style band. Until then they're just yet ANOTHER knockoff southern band SCARED to have their own identity. On another note.....BOTH bands are blowing and TC is holding their own. Lol... Imho

The one thing that Southern does different than TC that you all need to realize, Go threw a very Hectic Audition for their band! You Must know all 12 scales in 2 octaves 3 if necessary, have a Audition Piece and Play a Sight reading piece from the Band Directors Choosing, which is a Piece on a Colliegate Level of reading! Please state TC's audition requirements!? Then theirs a Crab week just to see who can survive and thats where most freshman get zipped! TC auditions in the Fall after SU gets rid of the ones that cant hang & they audition in the spring! Everyone who gets zipped out of SU band goes their trust me this is a fact! (Friends who are in TC that where in SUs band)! So for you all to say SU needs to step their Recruiting game up and get their numbers big like TC! SMH at you! You probly cant make this process that these young musicians in SU's band go threw! So until TC steps their game up and meet the status of SU please do not compare them at all!!

Yea rite southern not even big how they use to be dey not even missing dat many other band members so stop tryna make excuses for them southern definitely is not the same program that we use of seeing in 2006 and stuff and I use to go to SU there band program has gone down the drain slowly but showly they don't even have the screaming demons no more come on nah the southern I use to kno was way better than this I remember that they use to even march like 225 in 2009 and 2010 and they had unique sound my point is southern is not the same real talk

Judging from the way you speak, the only SU you know is the most recent. SU hasn't been 225 since 2007. Check your facts before your post. They still have a unique sound … don't act like they don't.
