Living without air conditioning involves two main things: 1. Close the windows. 2. Cover the windows as completely as possible. I now have thermal curtains which help a LOT, but I have taped cardboard over the window in the past. Newspaper works too! ONLY open the windows after the sun goes down and if it will make things better.

If you have some spare cash and a hardware store, you can get Reflective Insulation Rolls (with foam core) to cut to the window dimensions. We did this to our windows before we got a/c installed (PNW) along with a window unit or one of those portable a/c units with the slider backs. You can cut it so it just fits and it will sort of stay snugged there, or you can use masking/painters tape to hold it on without damaging the paint (unless it's flat).

I live in the north of Ireland by the coast and we have had what has been called ‘THE WORST SUMMER EVER’ because it’s been so cool - it’s not been even remotely hot at all and I LIVE! I’m so sorry Garrett! You could have flown over here and spent the summer with the temperature in the 20s, taken an Irish class, and got to know Belfast in your spare time. I think we hit the high 20s just a few times, I don’t think we even had a day up to 30 degrees Celsius ? So it’s simple: arrange to spend summer 2025 in Ireland, Garrett. There are haunted locations around the island, language classes, excellent places to eat, mad history all around ye, and BAD FECKING WEATHER.

Fellow summer-hater. I live in Minnesota so definitely don't have it as bad as you as far as heat goes, but we are all ready for fall because it has been in the 80s but we all know that it could snow in October so we'd like as much 50-70 degree weather as we can get before it gets below freezing. I am probably going to be Toothless the dragon for Halloween. My mom is making the wings and tail to attach to some black clothes I already had. My AC went out at the start of the summer. You have to close all your curtains once the sun comes up. No sunlight inside. It gets depressing. I would cool the house down as much as I could at night and got a portable AC unit. Also, ice packs on your body, cold foot baths, and putting ice in front of fans helps. At least our temps max out at 100. I think I would've gotten a hotel if I was you.

I work in a warehouse and I can tell you that I'm so done with summer!! Lol. I'm ready for cozy Autumn weather and all things spooky and pumpkin spice! 👻🎃🦇🖤🧡 I hope you get your AC fixed soon. 😭 I can't imagine not having AC at my home at this time of year. Garrett & Tinashe lore *unlocked* Halloween Costumes 🎃 As long as I finish it in time this year then I'm finally gonna do my Monster High Venus Mcflytrap costume but specifically her Music Festival Doll outfit cuz that was my favorite when I was little Some alternatives I have in mind since I have a mohawk right now are Shorter from banana fish and a genderbend Mitsuri from demon slayer & I'll be dying my mohawk for all of these so hopefully I don't fuck up the colors or I'll be sooo sad

watching this at 5 am as ive been working nightshifts for two years now, this is a very relatable video, you definitely get a lot less socialising by being up during night and sleep during the day but it's no biggy if you find ways to entertain yourself, i've *started* on a lot of hobbies :D absolutely hate summer heat also, love the nature during this time but the heat makes it unbearable

I live in an old apartment in LA with no AC so I feel you. I’ve lived in SoCal my whole life and most of my apartments have not had any AC so I have my tips and tricks. 1. lots of cold showers and letting yourself air dry in front of a fan after 2. keep all of your curtains closed during the day to not let any heat in 3. open your windows at night 4. sleep nude with no blankets 5. make yourself cold drinks with lots of ice (also good for staying hydrated) 6. go to public places with AC 7. I was definitely also doing the get home from work and nap until dark thing during the worst of the heatwave lol. you just gotta listen to your body sometimes cause extreme heat makes you sleepy

Honestly this was so relatable! My windows are weird so i didnt have an ac during Maines june heatwave. It was 93 in my apartment too! I did everything i could to cool off until my ac arrived. I had curtains, fans, was basically nude most of the time. At onw point i was laying on my living room floor misting myself like a sad little house plant. And i too despise summer! It feels so over stimulating and difficult. Youre not alone Garrett!! I believe in you (and air conditioning!)

I absolutely hate summer too!!!! I literally live inside away from everyone cuz I can't stand the heat or breathe with my asthma. I love the fall 🥰 crunchy leafs and sweater weather all year plz

Sweat is actuallllllyyyyyy my worst enemy, esp after i started taking an ssri that makes me sweat buckets if i simply just IMAGINE the sun but I'm trying to be positive and not hate my existence by telling myself (lying to myself) that noooo i actually LOVE sweating and it's just a sign that my body is taking care of me and im Not actually in Sensory Hell feeling Wet and Dripping constantly :)) maybe try it sometime if you're feeling extra delusional

My friend group and I usually choose a theme and I like slowly campaigning for my favorite throughout the year (thats how I got everyone to agree to DILFs so I could be Charlie Swan). So this year I have been gently suggesting we all be Frodo and one person be Sam all so I can be Frodo and also see five other Frodos on halloween.

Garret, I just wanna say that you're amazing and make me smile! You are VERY relatable, as I also have ADHD, and I love spooky shit. My birthday is actually on halloween, though I'm indecisive so I don't know what to be for halloween this year. Also, good luck with the heat! I'm in Texas and our AC had gone out for a few days during a heat wave. Thankfully, my partner was able to fix it after running a few tests to find the problem. I hope your AC gets fixed soon!
