I actually made my room into a 90s/ early 2000s room complete with princess crt tv,PS2,and GameCube along with a bunch of tv shows and bedsheets to match. It's really therapeutic to please your inner child. Since I never had my own room growing up and the state of the world isn't getting any better I might as well give in and make my room from a boring modern room with plain bedsheets, flat screen, and nothing but a Xbox series s on my all black tv stand. And make my room with princess crt tv, DVDs of old shows, PS1/2 games, GameCube games early 2000s powerpuff girl bedding. Lava lamps, those circle padded chairs that have like soft fluffy furry fabric inside, beads, and so much more.compareing early 2000s decor to now is like looking at a abstract fun painting and comparing it to dry wall literally all modern decor is boring and everything has to be this sleek black. Even our flat screens are the same boring rectangles as our phones and with the rise of everything being digital people don't want to see like shelves full of stuff now or decorations on the wall. Just have everything clean no nothing. I just find it strange. But idc if people look at my room like as if it's tacky cause really modern decor is the one that's actually tacky to me. But that's just me.
