Another great method to use foam is to burn a bit with a light. It gets the superficial layer harder and looks like stone. Later you can paint it, or even cheaper, "paint" with concrete. I have used it and looks amazing. It is a really cheap and easy way to make "artificial rocks". But it is importan to use high-density polystyrene beacause is is harder. That looks incredible, congrats! As a theme park enthusiast, I was happy you mentionned Diney and Universal, as you project is indeed very theme-parkish (down to the trip to second-hand stores for props, haha). Have you noticed, at Universal mainly, they do use the same perspective shift trick as your windows on some rides? The pionneer of that was Spider-Man (Islands of Adventure) which did that in 1999. It's called squinching, and it's not using head-tracking, but instead knows where the vehicle is on the tracks, so it's pre-rendered. But it works wonderfully! Also if you ever come to Europe, you might want to check out Toverland, which is pretty much filled with this wizard-style scenery; and Phantasialand, because it's plain amazing.

You (along with Jazza and Imphenzia and some other KZbin creators) have helped me realize... creative people... create. Whatever the medium, whatever the tools; they create. And I'm not one of them.

The thing about art is, that you can become an artist. All you have to do is create. It doesn’t have to be any one thing, it doesn’t have to be “good” either, so in the words of Scott Christensen Sava “ the world need more art. The world needs your art.”
@CookingSomeOmelette Жыл бұрын
@@ariamelody5560 I agree with you. Scott is an amazing artist and inspired tons of people to create your art. It doesn’t matter the medium, the technique, all that matters is your art and that YOU are proud of it. Don’t mind negativistic people. Instead, mind the talented folks and yourself for creating art that people can see and be inspired on!

Creative people create indeed, but being a creative person is not a requirement _to_ create. Not everyone is creative by nature, but everyone can be an artist, if they want to be.

What a PROJECT! I love the freedom of your creativity. I remember when you first designed this studio space and you loved it. But that didn’t stop you from a complete and utter transformation of the space. Even your past successes do not keep you from growing and changing, and that’s very inspiring. It’s a living and breathing space, not stagnant and unbending. Beautifullll Also, both set and prop building blow my mind. 😮

This is such a great build! I just found your channel yesterday and watched your most recent video. After seeing the wizard study, I wanted a walkthrough of the space. I got so much vicarious joy watching this. I used to be a foam cutter and a set builder as a job and I had to stop. It's still massive fun watching cool people do that same job, so thank you so much for making this into a video!! As Storage in this space for the future, I recommend Book Boxes. You can buy them or make them, then have the Titles be whatever's stored in that box.

Are sets like these fire hazards?
@bodotrenaud7441 Жыл бұрын
@@NyxBluebell depending the materials chosen. Did this use fireproof plywood ? And especially which foam did they use ? Did they use fire retarding paints ? Especially that there are lights and screen mixed inside. The risk is of almost instant fire propagation and toxic fumes from all the foam. Looks like the set from a legitimate Film! I'd want my house to look like that but put a "clear" ceiling in that has simulated planets and a swirling galaxy (basically how you made the window but it's above you with the motion tracking too) that would actually be cool if you added that to this room or something :3

Wait, you actually built all that? Just stumbled upon your channel today, and while watching another one of your videos, I immediately thought that must be green screen, and gave it no further thought. Then I watched another one of your videos and noticed that the background looked more convincing than mere green screen trickery,, so I started digging a bit deeper and found this video where you actually built the whole thing. Martina, From the way you started, I was unsure whether this particular project would have signature two thousand rocks 🪨 a’la Martina. I needn’t have worried. The fireplace and chimney obviously satisfied your lust for thousands of rocks! And then, if that was not enough, books! Eighty linear feet or so of books decorated one at a time (after Hansi cut the foam). A most remarkable project from your ever churning mind. Thank you, it was a pleasure to watch and will be a pleasure to watch again. Keep the aspidistra flying! God bless, Paul

6:24 I never thought I'd get rickrolled in a Nerdforge video but here we are 😂 8:36 Hansi is a treasure 😂😂 Martina's laugh afterwards makes me so happy 🥺 11:47 William has eyes now! OKAY THE END RESULT LOOKS SO EPIC!!! I WANT MY HOUSE TO LOOK LIKE THAT OMG!!!😍😍😍 The only thing I would do differently is that I'd have all the bookshelves to be deep enough to actually hold real books so I can finally curate the library of my dreams and I'd have real drawers because I personally feel that one can never have too much storage space in a studio and I have a ton of things to store lol (especially if the drawers were as big as Martina made them look- one of them is big enough for my entire sewing kit alone while the other can probably hold all of my paints) but other than that, I'd give up my firstborn for a studio that looks like this... someone find me a wizard (besides Martina and Hansi of course), I got a deal to make with them😂
