I am not a woodworker. I assume the algorithm decided I might enjoy this because of the Harry Potter connection. The 24 minutes I have just spent watching this make me wish I had such skills! Tonks' wand is my favourite, the first Noble collection wand I got, because when I held it, the shape of the petals fit so neatly around my little finger. I can imagine that the real wood feels so much more substantial. I am fully in awe❤

11:30 Fun Fact: The last person to use Salazar Slytherin's snakewood wand was Isolt Sayre, the founder of the American wizard school, Ilvermorny. It ended up going dormant and was buried. Afterwards, an indestructible Snakewood tree grew in that spot.
@cardenw11 күн бұрын
This turned out so well, the natural wood grain is beautiful :) Jim Barr made some really unique handles when designing wands for the series and this is a great example of that. He also made Voldemort and Viktor Krum's wands. All 3 wands lead to their respective actors developing unique grips on their wand, Viktor holds his like a pistol, Tonks said that she didn't really find a suitable grip until Bill and Fleur's wedding scene and Voldemort has his iconic open hand grip (although they had to use fishing wire to secure it to his hand as he dropped it frequently when filming). Even Peter Pettigrew briefly got to use Voldemort's wand during the leadup to Voldemort's revival in Goblet of Fire and he also developed a unique grip with it.

Awesome work! Your videos always get me thinking about how the production designers made the wands in the first place (I read they first designed in wood to then make plastic replicas for the film). I have the Japanese version of the wand, and it's a bit different from the Noble Collection version sold elsewhere, albeit more accurate to the movie version (you can see the differences in the promo images of Tonks - the movie version does not have the woodgrain marks around the wand, the shaft isn't bent and its shape is more of a diamond rather than a triangle). I wonder why did they decide to sell a version that differs from the movie.

Absolutely gorgeous work as always. I'd like to see the House mascot and horcrux wands being made at some point too, if that's at all possible. Another suggestion is to try making house hybrids. I'm a 50/50 ravenclaw & gryffìndor hat-stall (basically like Hermione), so maybe that could inspire future episodes once you've you've run the gambit of character wands? With each pairing giving you at least 16 variations, it could make for a fun challenge in future

What I would love is when get around around to Harry’s wand, is have the appearance the same in colour to the product photos rather than the prop itself, the photos of Harry’s wand in Ollivander box show it as a more grainy, slightly red/brown wood with quite a light coloured back handle. Noble collection used to put effort into the wands but the current Harry wands sold look awful so I’d recommend not going off them.

I've watched so many of your videos because I've always wanted to make all the wands for display but watching you make them is so daunting, I'm no wood working master and I don't have machinery, I have made myself an elder wand by hand by whittling it out of a dowel of pine then stained it to the colour, it's size accurate and looks pretty good, would you be interested in doing commition work to make each wand in pine to keep costs down, unstained if not then what is the smallest lathe machine I can buy to make them myself and a list of tools that are essential P.S. love what you do, I've become a huge fan of your work and attention to detail.
