Probably not overly that hard for a chess champion, but you also wouldn't want to look like a bigger idiot by resigning too early, if a good move was findable, if there was still time on the clock. That would basically suck worse. lol.

#suggestion Karpov VS Kasparov, "The Brisbane Bombshell", Round 16 in 1985. Also known as "The Octopus Knight". (Sicilian Defense, Paulsen Variation, Gary Gambit) I really love this game on how Kasparov really control the center and even own the game completely. I hope you'll analyze on this one, if should be fun and also very crushing, and maybe even if you could find alternatives to ensure Karpov could survive better or maybe get his knights back to active squares than getting stuck on the edge of the board.
@JohnJohnson-fn2we
@JohnJohnson-fn2we Жыл бұрын
Hm. A8 was inaccuracy and a trap, to which Karpov responded with D6 as a blunder. Follow by kasparov with blunder at 9:25 with B2. Follow by a last blunder E5 by Karpov. Than people spend some times together their brains synchronized. So one persons mistake is just a next step for your opponent to do mistake. You can see it often in chess.

Really feels like Tal would have found a way to win in that position ... Karpov whips up a potential storm on the kingside but then lets everything subside again without so much as a gentle breeze around Kasparov's king.

I'm wondering how about Qh4 at 6:06 after Kasparov played Re7 instead of this wreid Kg1. White is threatening to capture the pawn on a7 and open the Black kings defense.I couldnt find any good defense for black even though there is no quick mate or smt for white but i believe this position would be better for Karpov than what he did.I hope im not missing some simple thing in here :)
@danieldamaskinos
@danieldamaskinos 6 жыл бұрын
Gökberk Arslantaş yes, thought about that, it is possible, but after Qxh7 black will simply avoid it, his bishop (g7) is doing great work, so he will play Nxc2, and position is better for black. So u don't achieve that much

You gotta love Kapsy he only wanted a draw and still goes for the najdorf! Not like todays players...Damn karpov is probably the most likeable player ever and one of the top 5 players ever but it happened that his journey was at the same time with the strongest player off all times otherwise he would probably have like 10 world titles by now.Greatest rivalry in chess history both pushed each other to the limit and both got better from this matches.

10:25 why kasparov dont play knight e3 !!!
@mundoliamcedricka.471
@mundoliamcedricka.471 5 жыл бұрын
Because after king moves and knight captures queen, Karpov then has rook captures rook on e8 and after the bishop defends then black has some sort of counterplay. White would've exchanged a queen for a rook and a bishop and having 2 rooks and a knight against a queen, rook, and a knight would seem as though black would be winning but with a 2 pawn advantage with a powerful passed pawn it would be difficult to say whether Kasparov could pull a win. But that's just my analysis. I'm not really that skilled in chess so you could take my explanation with a grain of salt.
@hw8556
@hw8556 4 жыл бұрын
@@mundoliamcedricka.471 42... Ne3+ would have been also a win for Kasparov. After your suggested moves 43. Kg3 (43. Kh1 or 43. Kh3 would be even worse) Nxc4 44. Rxe8+ Bf8 45. Rxf8+ Kg7 there is the threat, that the black queen comes to e3 and the white king would be soon mated. So for example, if 46. Rf3 (to prevent queen to e3) Nxe5. The rook on f3 is under attack, and the squares d3 and e3 are under control of the white queen respectively the knight. And then there are many ways to win this game for black.

If the white responds to 42.Ne3 with Kh3 then Qd7 comes, winning for black.If king goes to any another square,then Rf8 is very strong.I checked the position using engine and it gives -11.9 after Nd4,but -16.1 to Ne3.By the way the engine suggests Nd4,but when e3 is played the rate arises.

What if Karpov gave away his queen for a rook and a knight when Kasparov attack it with his knight.. I am just analyzing the game myself and I think that Karpov's position even though his king is so exposed he would have 2 rocks , one on the 4th rank and plus 2 pawns ahead ... Definitely would have been the GREATEST GAME of all time if Karpov had the guts to do it!

in the end, couldn't you play Ne3 and just win the queen? not that it matters much, but it's such a crushing move with a double check royal fork

I don't understand why Karpov didn't go for something more aggressive.

Karpov is a positional player. He doesn't go for attacking, he just tries to keep the position the most static that is possible until the opponent makes a mistake for karpov to take advantage. Boring style certainly, juat like the most of the top players nowadays.

@@miguelkkkk2458 stfu you dickhead. It's how he likes to play, not everyone plays sacrifices that don't actually work. I bet you're hard stuck at 1200 because you know 0 positional play and play for failed tactics. Learn chess
