Thanks Garry - looks like a wonderful trip. Wish I'd known you were in town - Hayward's my home base and I could have bought you a coffee and got your autograph or something :-) hope you'd time for a flight over Alcatraz and the golden gate bridge or maybe that's old hat. Thanks again for sharing - I just got my license and I pick up something every time I watch these.

Thanks for your videos, Garry. I enjoy hearing another, much higher time pilot saying the things I'm thinking. Sometimes it seems like professional pilots don't have to work nearly as much as I do to "fly the plane". Please keep the videos coming.

Great trip. Which map/software/program are you using on your iPad, can you comment on your iPad management during your trips? Thank you

+Alexander Newcomb ForeFlight (Pro). Highly recommend it. With the Garmin avionics in the Skylane, flight plans, traffic, weather, etc. are all shared between panel & iPad.

Great video again Garry. I noticed you have the gtn 750 but mainly use the iPad. Seems like the iPad works much smoother than the garmin.

KTS I believe the processor is faster and screen resolution much better on the iPad, it's easier to find things (for me) in ForeFlight, and of course you don't see actual VFR sectional charts on the Garmin... It's a shame you have to use the Garmin Pilot app in order to utilize the FlightStream 210 I put in... _that_ was a waste of $1,000...

I really like flying with foreflight. The svt was pretty accurate when using it. Do you use a stratus also?

KTS No; the 750 is full ADS-B In/Out.

How much of your trip did you do vfr?
@GarryWing9 жыл бұрын
Daniel Whiting 100% VFR. Last year (East Coast): 93% *IFR*, 20% of that in IMC.
