You were in my backyard.. Friday Harbor is always a fun place to fly with great views. BFI is typically busy with KRNT and KSEA all close by. Great video Garry

I was wondering about your apparent fascination with the VASI/PAPI :) We all have to be concerned about something. Enjoyed the video, Looking forward to part two.

Garry, thanks for sharing! I enjoy flying the virtual wing with you. Looks like you had a fun trip. The West Seattle Reservoir was covered & turned into a park and is the green / brown field you see around the 4 minute (right of nose) and 11:20 minute (left of nose) sections of this video. more info www.seattle.gov/parks/projects/west_seattle_reservoir/ or view photos of the reservoir construction by Vantage Point Photography www.vp-photo.com/west_seattle_reservoir.htm

Mike Adams Well, *now you tell me*:) ATC should only use _charted_ VFR Reporting Points (Alki Point, Vashon Heights, etc.), unless it's with familiar/local-based airplanes. In Denver, they told me to report the intersection of two local streets!!!

Great video Gary. You literally flew right over my house. Just a heads up for next time your in town: the "resevoir" is actually a big park (Westcrest Park) and not the big water tower you saw. I don't know why they call it a reservoir; it must have been filled in once they built the park. I fly out of Boeing and still wonder that every time I'm coming back VFR from the west. Looking forward to part 2 in SF.

Pretty sweet flying! Love the music. What's that tune btw?

Hi Garry. Enjoyed your video, as always. Friday Harbor, Shelter Cove, and Boeing field are definitely on my bucket list of airports to fly to. Did you go to the Museum of Flight? Everytime I go to Seattle I drag someone there with me. Keep the vids coming!

Frank Andrijeski Not this time; been there previously. We did go on the Boeing factory tour up in Everett and toured Paul Allen's Warbirds hangar (not highly recommended; rather small collection compared to Bob Pond (Palm Springs) or John Ellis (AirZoo-Kalamazoo). Next video you'll also see Newport, OR; another cool coastal airport and *fantastic* Hallmark resort.

it is good to keep your hand on the throttle during landing in case a go around is needed.
@GarryWing9 жыл бұрын
777DEHME Nah; that's an old myth... as Rod Machado says, you can move your hand to the throttle in about 1/2 second if you need to go around... better to use *both hands* for symmetry / better control while flaring... You'll note I also don't go _Mixture Rich_ when landing... no reason to foul my $1,200 fine-wire spark plugs when the engine is idling, right...?
@777DEHME9 жыл бұрын
Garry Wing am not against you and i like the way you fly but at some point disagreed. if the mixture was leaned during your landing and you had to go around it is made two steps now unless a climb is made with a leaned mixture then that's another story.

Garry, Great videos! Just wondered if you use fore flight and where you got the mount? Thanks,BEMc
@GarryWing9 жыл бұрын
Bernie McAda Yes, ForeFlight. I'm using the AirGizmo's panel mount for the iPad mini.
@berniemcada42349 жыл бұрын
Garry Wing Thanks for the Reply. I like that mount. I also see you have a shade to help knock down the glare.
@GarryWing9 жыл бұрын
Bernie McAda In some earlier videos, with the iPad yoke mounted (RAM), I had a shade hood over it. Now with the GTN 750, we used the AirGizmo to mount it where the Garmin 496 used to be on the panel. Bonus: we also put 2 USB jacks behind the iPad mount...
