I absolutely love all of your reactions to the songs that you do! As far as Garth Brooks is concerned, I own all of his CDs. I bought them in the box sets that he used to sell at Walmart. I remember going through a time where all I listened to was Garth Brooks. In the 90s, my friend and I went to his concert in Columbia, South Carolina. We sang his music all the way there. We ended up singing to every song at the concert And of course saying all the way home. The next day neither of us can speak because of our voices! Garth does not have any bad songs.

This reminder me of someone saying "Yes, God is good. But sometimes his answer is "No"." But, not to forget the fact we all have free will. So we can make choices that could go against the signs we receive and lead us to a maybe different direction. Or, is it all already planned for us, are we guided by invisible hand to where we're supposed to be? Hopefully, eventually, what is meant to be will be. Even when we are sometimes lost on our life journey. I really love how Garth actually tells a story, even more than just singing. No metaphors, no hidden messages or complexed lyrics. Just simple, honest stories from his life. And that's why we connect to his songs so easily.

I have loved your reactions to Garth Brooks. Especially the live versions. He is the best at performing live. That said, I think you would enjoy his song Red Strokes and the official music video with the white piano is stunning.

Been there done that. I wished from afar from freshman year to Jr. year of high school over this boy who didn't know I existed. Then he noticed me, he was my first everything. Then he broke my heart by dumping me on my 17th birthday in 1971, but two weeks later I met my husband. That was 50 years ago. I spotted his name on another friend's FB page this past summer. I wanted to check out his page and see how his life turned out. He broke my heart a second time when I went to his page and discovered he had passed away a couple months before.

Another of my favorite country singer/songwriters is Mac Davis, he wrote songs for other artists, including Elvis, before gaining fame for himself. He even had a tv show in the US in the early 70's. Worth checking out in my opinion.

He's got many great songs, the River, the Dance especially, this one is my favorite. I've been listening to his music throughout most of my life, and he's truly an amazing musician. In concerts, he has an energy all his own, and he usually burns it, running around from one edge of the stage to another.

I can recommend any Garth song, but We Shall Be Free is a song that most people never expect to come from a mainstream country artist. It really highlights who Garth is as a person, and what he believes. It’s beautiful.

A lot of country music references God or religion. A lot of country music artists grew up singing in church choir. I developed a personal theory that church of Chris people go into country music so they could sing with instruments. Most of the Church of Christ churches do not allow musical instruments in the church. Therefore only secular songs can be sung with instruments. I know Collin Ray is Church of Christ and have heard several others reference the Church of Christ in their secular songs. Some of my favorites are Dolly Parton's He's Alive, Collin Raye's What if Jesus Comes Back Like That and Faith Hill's There Will Come a Day.

HAP, the ironic reality is that many years after he recorded this song, he wound up divorcing his wife of many years & marrying his former fantasy woman, the famous singer Tricia Yearwood who he used to sing with. Talk about irony! And they are happily married to this day & sooo in love🤨!!!!

A big bit of background on the song... Garth Brooks was working on the song after being inspired, he wrote it quickly and then got stumped on the tagline. Song writer speak for words or phrases a short text which serves to clarify a thought for, or is designed with a form of, dramatic effect. Many tagline are reiterated phrases associated with an individual Stumped 😂 A few weeks went by and he ran into a friend and explained his quandary by giving him the gist of the story. His friend quipped Oh you mean " God's unanswered prayers " And that's the rest of the story...

I’m not sure if you’ve reacted to this or not. This is Kelly Clarkson singing Garth’s song “The Dance” at the Kennedy Center Honors. Garth was honored and Kelly sang this song. I’ve never liked anyone else’s cover of this song. However, Kelly is very close to Garth and she sang this song and personally, hers is the only one that even touches the original.
