Garth is an amalgam of numerous horror writers - his look is very 70s/80s Friedkin who is also a bit of a blowhard, and he's got a bit of a Shaun Huston to him - he comes across in interviews as a bit of a bitter hack, resentful of others success. Ultimately, he's an ode to that set of 80s British horror novelists - Richard Laymon, Ramsey Campbell, James Herbert, Clive Barker etc. - who were everywhere and put out a lot of fucking mental stuff.

So I watched this episode years ago w i moved to Glasgow vinegar bottle salt bottle chained to the counter so I went to Glasgow has seen it for myself i laughing for ages i like the references to tattie scones and I do love the line about the about the techy guys lol this is my favourite episode out of all of them it's just so funny lol
