One interesting detail is that when they did the segments that were supposed to be from America, they processed the video to make it look weird. Back in the days of analog television, foreign broadcasts would look "off" because of differences between PAL and NSTC video standards.

Nathan Barley is calling. Chris Morris wrote and directed it. It’s an absolute piece of art and worthy of your reaction

Ah, if it isn't my favorite comedy program ever made! I'd make good with my legs over open ground to see a reaction to The Day Today.

The amount of people who believed this was a real news show when it first aired is unreal - it just makes it funnier, haha!

"Fill up nose and put my specs there roars drunken Major". Just do a 3 minute search of John Major and it's obvious why this is hilarious.

For me the joke about the fundraising was more about him manipulating the situation to upset her creating a scene, then reassure her that it was understandable if she was upset, then to sit back smugly at a job well done.

On one of the street interviews he asked the guy if he thought that "the letter of the law" should be enforced (a phrase meaning that we should enforce the law rather than turning a blind eye to some things). When the guy agreed, he asked which letter it was (the guy apparently replied with J).
