Garuda Gnome (after switching to Wayland), is an excellent distro. I usually swap between Fedora and Garuda, but I find Garuda to be just that bit better. And I've noticed for some games it runs better than Fedora.

Thank you for the reviews you do and put new ideas into my head. I do often try the new (to me) distros on a VM to see if they are more suited to my hardware and software, most fail some fundamental features that should work but don't do well and so I often spend an hour or more trying to get these things working, then scrub the VM and return to Fedora (and RisiOS) - some of the first things that cancel an OS for me - poor or non existent support for 4K monitors, multi monitor setups, poor or non existent support for AppImages, Sound (bluetooth) issues, Printer support and or flaky operation just to name a few. It appears to me that you spend a lot of the video reviews on what software is included, rather than daily use functions - for example I have tried distros that you suggested that would not update, with errors in software or repositories, Like a few others have suggested, a greater focus on real world operation would be more useful - as we can install software easily, but can"t fix errors in the OS itself. I am downloading The Gnome version of Garuda, in the hope that it works as reliably as Fedora - the others I have tried all failed my tests - and I believe Garuda's problem is trying to make too many versions and not focusing on just one good implementation. Curious experience - there is no English selection on the download links - so have to assume that not selecting one of the many in the dropdown box defaults to English....how could simple basic UI be forgotten?

You make a good point about Windows 11 (or even Windows 10 for that matter). If you have an 8GB laptop (which most come in these days), you're using at least half of the RAM just to run the operating system - crazy! And if you can't upgrade the RAM (as is the case with a lot of business laptops), you're screwed if you want to run even a browser with lots of windows (tabs) opened. Being that I use Linux mainly for working at home and while I'm away (not for gaming), I find Garuda Dragoinized too garish. But after watching one of your older videos on how you customised it to look more normal, I'd definitely give it a whirl. While I'm generally not a fan of the Gnome DE, I really like the easy access menu's they have included now. This seems like a great fit for a laptop with a touch screen. I may end up giving this a go on that one.

I have had issues with KDE. Specifically touchpads and LCD display scaling. I've had neither of those issues in Gnome (I do have to change the touchpad settings). I am really going to have to give this distro a try. I like the Arch concept but it's over my head in many cases and I have had the Manjaro SSL key issues. I'm going to try it first in a VM before I install it on my system. The biggest problem I've had with Arch is picking up my printer where other distros have. So I'm going to test it out first and then install it if I like it.
