Culture via movies, costumes under the spotlight!! Heart warming and also the need of the day to understand cultures & our similarities, instead of focusing just on our differences. Moved to hear and understand dressing diversities woven with love in our movies. Good keep it flowing............

Salutes to these Sundaris, Archana and Sharvari for sharing such a deep knowledge of Costumes, especially in Navratra, Gujarat. Although the subject is not of my interest, I enjoyed it thoroughly.

Happy Navratri to SAAM toli🙏 Excellent sharing by Sharvarij and Archana on Gujarati culture and Hindi cinema! Seriously enjoyed listening to the entire episode on culture mix with Gujarati color, dance, dresses, dishes & old movies with songs... It brought back old memories, "मैं तो भूल चली बाबुल का देश पिया का घर प्यारा लगे" & पी के घर आज प्यारी दुल्हनिया चली...👌 Liked the story also!

SAAM_sundaris back in their elements. Archana talking beautifully. In present years Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam had a Gujarati family. So did Satyaprem ki katha are total Gujarat. But these are new movies. In UP Bihar too ladies in marriages too wear seedha palla ki saari. That is the real Indian way.

@vineeshvedsen9031 thanks so much for your comment. Couldn't help but pop in here to say there are more than 30 traditional ways to wear a saree "the real Indian way" 😄. The seedha palla ki saree is just one of them. That's just one of the many beautiful perks of living in a country as awesomely diverse as ours! 😃🙏

This information is really interesting. But what arouses my curiosity is how the colour schemes arose in the first place. Why and how were different castes assigned different colours?
@sharvarikhatavkar82292 ай бұрын
Hi Madhu, I asked Archana about your query. She says, there's no specific reason how a community decides for a particular color or motif. It's a gradual process. Probably orange colour is representative of valor - kesariya - so Kshatriya community may have chosen that one. And red is related to fertility. So, that is common almost in every community. Thank you dear for listening to our episodes ♥️
