Jack straw ( from witchita) Amen. The only "hit" isn't even the best song on the album.

Love the bit with the dogs 🙂 you wouldn’t believe the life I led with your music as soundtrack….it was a long time ago my mind was blown hearing grey diamond desert on the John peel show, it’s been a pleasure and thank you

Absolutely gorgeous. The dogs, the frosty atmosphere, the psyched-out overdubbing ... fucking killer.

Had a dream about the Trees just last night. Gary and Mark and Van, you were all a bit older, about as old as you are now. Wasnt sure if i was going to wake up or if I wanted to. I was just a little boy when this album came out, didnt find it until later, had moved back home to Washington after many years away and this was the soundtrack to that melancholic little period, couplee with Dust. Way up north, just south of the international border, and my girl at the time was in Salem, OR. These songs just take me right back there, those long drives, often in the middle of the night. They passed before i ever knew it.

So great to have found all these posts of Gary’s songs… sung and performed by Gary! Loved the Trees, loved Lannegan (RIP), but so freakin’ awesome to see the Trees’ songwriter finally with the focus on him. So much respect for his songwriting skills. Here’s the guy behind so many of my favorite songs from that period. Props, Gary. Thank you and please keep writing..

Lord only knows the level of irony involved that the death of Mark Lanegan led to me finding your new music, but either way I'm glad I made it here. I'm even more glad to see you making beautiful music still. You have much to be proud of in your life. Great song, Gary. Never put down your guitar, man.

Thanks Gary for playing this song. You have a huge catalog of amazing songs and your still pumping out beauties. I'm gonna go jam this baby out. I love the simplicity of the music and the complexity of the lyrics. It's the perfect juxtaposition.

One of my favorite songs of all time from my favorite album of all time. I love this arrangement. A bit of a Donovan type of psychedelia, which I never would have imagined on such a straightforward rock tune. Nicely done. The guitar tone of the original is something I chased for many years back in the day. I always considered it the definitive Marshall sound (I'm assuming it was recorded on a Marshall and one of your Gibsons.

Next Trees album? I'm down with a reunion. Lanegan probably wouldn't accept, though.
@johnybaltimore36874 жыл бұрын
@@davidleewrath6919 referring to Lee Conner's impending (imaginary?) album of Trees' "covers" LOL as he has been delighting us with his solo versions of the bands' catalog and displaying proof of the fact that he was the band, regardless of the great talent around him.
@johnybaltimore36873 жыл бұрын
AND THAT'S THE FACTS JACK. This IS the reunion. everyone is there.
