The greatest guitarist ever to walk on this earth. I remember your first reaction to Gary. 😊 I was lucky enough to see Gary many many times. The first time I saw him in concert was on 1969, yes 1969! He never disappointed, always gave 110% I was also lucky enough to meet him personally. He was a nice guy. R.I.P Gary we miss you. 😊😎🎸🇬🇧🇺🇦

This is maybe his best performance of this song, unfortunately one of his last. He past away 6 months after this recording. There are countless other versions of this song, but I think this is my favorite one. I said it several times, people say of most guitarists that the guitar is the extension of the guitar player, but in Gary’s case it’s exactly the other way around, HE is the extension of the guitar, you see that in nearly EVERY note he plays, for me there is no one like him!! Regarding this song keep in mind that it’s from 1979!!! and written by one of his best friends Phil Lynott, yes, that Phil Lynott from Thin Lizzy. Originally it had only the first part with the lyrics and ended shortly after the long note that everyone is waiting for in that song, but it was originally shorter and as I said ended after that fading out. This solo in the end is purely Gary and he plays it always. The extent varies a lot, this one is probably the longest one, but as I said for me the best. I miss Gary dearly and wish he would still be around, but I’m glad his music will always be!! RIP Gary!
