About a year ago I discovered Gary. I remember the name but sadly that’s about it. Growing up in America for whatever reasons he wasn’t talked about or played on radio. This kills me. I absolutely love his music and in my opinion he is the best guitarist ever period no question. I listen to him now daily for over a year. My car has a 6 disc player they are all Gary. I don’t get tired of listening to him. I’ve never had a performer keep this much interest for such a long period of time before I’m tired of listening to them for awhile. But not Gary. I can’t get enough. So I grew up a huge Eddie Van Halen fan. I can’t tell you how much I wished I could’ve channeled all my energy toward Gary if I only had known of him. He is twice the guitarist of Eddie Van Halen. And can sing. I would’ve flown overseas to attend his concerts. I’m amazed of all the material out there on him. Been listening for over a year and I still see videos that I have not seen of him amazing in itself. RIP Gary. 😢🎸😢, It kills me that I’ll never see him live in concert. Thanks to all who share his brilliance 🙏🙏🎸👍😊❤️

Gary was a great & underrated guitarist. Since you’re enjoying Gary Moore, I would recommend you give Rory Gallagher a listen. Rory & Gary were friends way back in Belfast in the 60’s, Gary was definitely influenced by Gallagher’s playing, especially when Moore went back to the Blues. Watch any live show from either Rockpalast or Montreux Jazz for some great Rory gigs. Saw Rory 2x and his live shows always went about 2 1/2 hours or longer. Rory’s Strat is in the RRHoF in an exhibit called ‘Play it Louder’ till Sept 2020. Check out new Gallagher release ‘Checked Shirt Wizard 77”, live album being released 3/2/20. Rest easy Gary & Rory, true underrated players.

Jeez when Gary let rip there was an earthquake. All these years later he's still bowling us over. There was me thinking Gary's gig with The Chieftains on Gay Byrne was the best rendition of this song, and his Montreux performances were superb. But oh no....this Stockholm performance is magisterial. If you don't already have this on VHS or DVD, the price is around £100 if you can find it at all.

I love that sound he gets when he bangs the whammy bar during Over the Mountains. A Great song and a great performance. Another performance people should check out is Tribute to Phil Lynott Dublin 2005. He teams up with Thin Lizzy guitarist Scott Gotham to perform Black Rose. My eyes watered up a bit towards the end, I’m half Irish and for some reason that song always gets to me.
