Nana Gyan with Falcao yes he was coming back from a bad injury and we clearly thought it was worth the risk and it wasn't. Di Maria was. A great signing he was a top 5 player in the world at the time and started brilliantly. LVG wasn't the right man for him. Utd should be going for the likes of Di Maria, Pogba but it doesn't help when there is no stability at the club. Pogba for example should've been one of the final pieces of a rebuild. But we signed him to play with a finished Matic and Herrera, no full backs, awful cbs and no wingers. But I also agree with Gary that you need to sign players who want to join not just for money

There needs to be a balance. We don't need a quick fix but there needs to be a sense of urgency and a sense things are going in the right direction. We have seen projects unravel rather quickly in the last 6 years and not much structural change has taken place to see us improve in key areas like tactical approach and strategy in the transfer market when it comes to recruiting the right players, coaches and staff.

Completely agree with Gary, especially on Dybala... he is the exact same as the likes of Di Maria, not what we need but I think if we forced the issue we would have ended up with him. As it stands weave a team of players who want to be here and will play out of their skin... a number of them could potentially become world class with a solid season behind them. There are definitely holes in midfield but there are younger players that we can try to use surrounded by the quality we have. Aside from a central defensive midfielder, I'm happy with the summer we've had and the team we've got. It's all about fitness and willingness to improve. It seems to me that Ole is already make tough decisions that have led to positive results - one being NOT going all out for Dybala (the last thing we needed was another whiney little bitch).

Neville is right about all of us going back to when we signed di Maria & falcao we were all buzzing & look how that turned out! Same with Sanchez! We need 2 central midfielders & a left back for me & then this side can challenge again! But if those players aren’t available this summer or when we met with them & their representatives we didn’t feel like they genuinely wanted to come then I back ole & Woodward for pulling the plug on those deals! We can’t just keep signing players for the sake of it, they have to fit how the manager wants us to play but they also have to want to come & have the right attitude about wearing the United shirt!

Priince Brvce I’ve not twisted any words. I’ve quoted him verbatim. He was quite rude in cutting short the guy to point out he doesn’t feel United have lost anybody. Then less than a minute later he quite clearly talks about “losing Herrera” and “losing Fellaini”. He’s all over the place. I know exactly what he means and what he’s trying to say. Unfortunately, it’s exactly the same as what the guy was trying to say when he made the original point. To be fair Gary made some good points. The whole platform of social media is giving fans a voice which is good, but at the end of the day we are fans, we're not inside the club at meetings or on the end of conference calls. Our voices get heard but they do not Listen. I must be one of the few who're happy with the window, we got rid of players who didnt want to be at the club and we replaced them with players who have passion. The internet is full of kids who want to sign big name players so they can use them on fifa, or who view the success of the transfer window on how big of a name you sign. Ole is not about that, neither are the board. He knows the club, he knows what we need and he knows how to go about it. The 3 players we've signed i guarantee will be loved by the end of November, we are building a new team, building, not buying. I'm genuinely glad that opinions and views shared on social media do not get taken seriously by United because we would be in a fucking mess. Don't get me wrong i like being entertained by the KZbin channels etc but just because people have 100k followers or what ever it doesn't make them an expert in managing a club and being a master of the transfer window. This is Man United, We know what we're fakin' doin' lads.

OMG my whole reply got deleted. Anyways, I was arguing we don't know what we are doing. Our table finishes, failed scattergun transfer and managerial signings/appointments point to an incompetent board. That said, this summer was a step in the right direction. We recruited talented players who want to be here and who get the club and what it means to us fans and the stature we have globally. But that goes down to Ole, and it is worrying that Ole might not have secured all the targets necessary to have a decent season. We need a DoF, someone who can help establish a transfer policy moving forward so even if Ole gets sacked, we don't completely start from fresh and we have "institutional memory" so the culture we want to build isn't lost because we sacked one guy. We need some expertise and continuity in the board room when it comes to recruitment. I simply do not trust Ed to make the right moves. Only once we have a powerful ,(as in he or she actually gets a say in transfers and has the power to veto moves) and competent DoF can I feel confident saying Utd know what they are doing. But clearly the last 6 years suggest we do not. We have wasted a ton of money have not come close to CL or PL title. We haven't had the right leadership and the right strategy to deliver the success we all want to see.

But you cant let 2 midfielders that have for the last 4 years been part of the midfield for various reasons just leave without replacing them. Herrera can play football but does the hardwork for the team and the only outfield player since Sir Alex left that has stopped De Gea from winning player of the season until last season where Shaw got a sympathy vote. Fellaini as much as we love to hate him, has scored extremely important goals for United and was good for set pieces at least Maguire covers for that now. But we let them go with no replacements from last season and like Adam said Herrera was the 2nd best midfielder at United and he still is better than everyone else besides Pogba, with Matic getting slower the midfield this season is objectively worse than last. With Lukaku being sold for 70mil the club has barely spent any money this transfer window and two midfieders are gone leaving 3 unproven players that have not played 3 good games in a row let alone a full season, rebuilding with a midfield you cant trus to get Europa league next season but rebuilding needs to incentivise players to join and believe in the plan but we are hearing more noises of the best player wanting to leave again Also if there are so many Herrera's around why wasnt one bought to replace him when about a 60mil was the net spend this transfer window so far, a big club spend 70mil for two summer windows in a row? Arsenal, Spurs, Liverpool, CIty arent standing still they are still strengthening too and United needs to rebuild faster or risk falling behind and be caught up by Wolves

Harry Maguire will score goals with his head, much like fallailli did, wan bassaka will play as a quick wing back to press the team forward, none of that side to side then pass back shit, which they played before. We are quicker than we have been in a long time, like sir alex brought to the team, athletes that can go the distance, that's why we were renowned for scoring late goals, we where fitter than most teams, it showed against chelsea. I personally think if we buy expensive players they need to be quick, but most players like that arnt. who knows with pogba, i cant see him going this season, but football is a funny game, you never know.I think olly will bring back pace, attacking football, with a quick defence running from the back, and a couple of good formations for different styles of play.
