When I watched the last two episodes of Season 3, I was truly thrilled by the action directing of the assault on the storage facility, and promised to remember Saul Metzstein's name. I've just finished reading the novel ("Real Tigers"), and the scene is breathlessly exciting on the page, but watch how Mr. Metzstein handles it. There's nothing in the book about red and green light - that's all direction. Just brilliantly, masterfully staged.
@RandomJtv4 ай бұрын
I thought the exact same thing. I had seen some season 3 reactions online prior to watching it, and there was an overwhelming sense of people being put off by the last 2 episodes being action heavy. So I was expecting to feel the same. But it really was thrilling to watch, because of what plays out and how it was shot. And the cool thing is that it still feels like Slow Horses. It didn’t feel like ‘OH. And now it’s time for action!’. Every time there was a moment where it could easily become a regular action thriller, some ridiculous thing would happen which is so typical for the Slow Horses posse. The balance of tones really shone here, because it was so masterful. It would have been SO easy to have gotten it wrong. And I think it helps that not only is Saul Metzstein talented, but that he directed the whole season.
@Memo2Self4 ай бұрын
@@RandomJtv But that action finale is thrillingly written by Mick Herron in "Real Tigers." His cross-cutting between River and Louisa, Marcus and Duffy, and even the revelatory conversation between Lamb and Standish, is relentless and breathless. So people thinking "it's not like 'Slow Horses'" is, I think, more about their expectations than what the Slough House novels actually are. (Although, truth be told, the trailer for Season 4 DOES seem to be pretty, um, energetic...)

No surprise to hear the major intelligent planning of the finest details. Sheer brilliance of richness in all aspects make Slow Horses stand out. Am over 60 and think this takes its place in my top ten all time tv of any genre (i.e. the quality of work that goes into the likes of Sherlock, Wolf Hall, I Claudius, The Thick of It, Band of Brothers etc ).

I met a woman once about a decade ago, she literally could not handle the sight of other people eating, nor people chewing gum with their mouth open. I didn't tell her that I had overheard her saying that, but I made it a point to chew openly every chance I had to hopefully make her gag. everytime I see Jackson Lamb chewing food, I hope that the same lady sees it and has the same reaction. Excellent acting, superb show, deserves more credit than it gets in the US

I really don't understand the point of these links that pop up while you're watching a video on KZbin. They block you seeing the video, and if you click on them they take you immediately to another video that's also going to be spoiled with links. Unless you aren't enjoying what you're watching, when you can actually see it, why would you want to suddenly abandon it to watch something else? And if you don't like someone's video, why would you want to click on something else they've done that you probably won't like either, even when you can actually see it? There are layers of poor thinking put into this.

I have my good and bad thoughts about the series Gary Oldman is fantastic in it no doubt about that ,no question of his experience , many of the charectors in the series are not so convincing . The reason why i say this for example how some of them would have passed the exam to be a m15 in the first place . I am not going to name names as it is not needed . There is some things about the certain plots of the story is what the americans would say a curve ball it would not make sense . Some of the actors did pull their weight when building their charector which is great , but some just not even trying and do not care for them if they are killed . For example the pc guy he would not get a job as a employee at tescos he just off putting . Some were thrown under the bus ,but the charectors were good and either sadly died or took out of the service . I also think some american ideas have been thrown in the plots which does not exactly tally with the co-ordination of the british theme . The british theme does shine and also developing the building where castoff are thrown in ,but it seems to be polished with american ideas that does not mix well I do like american films or series when they do it but here is a far to much . But overall i am enjoying the series taking blind spots to not put it in a negative and let some parts go over my head .

It’s a fantastic show, but I think series 3, especially the silliness in the final 10 mins, is the weakest. Series 1 and 2 pretty much perfect, as is most episodes of series 3. Series 4 so far pretty good too.
