@@beckscarbajal7596I’ve been a Tolkien fan since i was in the fifth grade and i am enjoying Rings of Power. it’s not the PJ films (which also deviated significantly from established lore), but it is very much made in the spirit of Tolkien by people who clearly love Tolkien. season two is a helluva lot better than season one so far you just have to remember it’s an adaptation. television and fiction are vastly different storytelling mediums. and to me, criticizing lore deviations isn’t legit media criticism. real media criticism involves discussions on the aspects of film production that went into making the show - directing, narrative structure, production design, acting, etc etc. far too many fans get hung up on insignificant lore deviations and never really go on to discuss and debate the merits of the show in a nuanced way. plenty of Tolkien fans like the show.

One reason why Jack Lowden would be good as James Bond is because he is good looking and you can believe a lot of these Bond girls would be easily bedded by him, this is not to say that the Eon Bonds were not good looking just that he is probably better looking than all the others with the exception of Brosnan. True that a lot of women always say they prefer their men to be tall, dark (e.g. not Blond) and handsome but there are quite a few that say they prefer blond men, hard to say what the percentage or ratio is? There is also a large quantity who wouldn't mind dark haired or light haired men as long as they are good looking. Slow Horses shows Jack Lowden can handle the action scenes and seems very believable as an action hero, please make him the next Bond.

Loved Slow Horses. But jack lowden’s turn as the flawed, but very human, Nikolai (Count Rostov) in War and Peace deserves a shout out. Funny story about scottish pilots in ww2. Flight sergeant ferguson of the RAF was shot down in September 1940 during the battle of britain. Coming in for a glide crash landing he was repeatedly attacked by german fighters. His plane cut through power lines and then did a belly landing on a golf course. When members of the golf club arrived to help, sergeant ferguson was out of his spitfire, very agitated, and speaking at an enormous pace. The funny bit? The golf club’s members could only understand the swear words he was using - of which there were a lot - and thought he was a polish pilot, speaking in polish. It was only after they got him to the clubhouse and he’d downed a few whiskeys that they realised he was scottish. Many years later, some of the club members who witnessed this still thought he was polish (‘he didnt speak any english, but, my word, he had learned a lot of english swear words”).
