@@MarlonDeanMcQueen From my understanding Shelby actually had quite a bit to do with it. The original design was never raced. Upon receipt of the prototype from Eric Broadley or Lola and Roy Lunn of Ford, the Shelby team developed and raced the car into the legend it became- well beyond the uncompetitive and unreliable original. . Shelby, Ford, and Lola continued the partnership until the Mark IV which was by then an all-Ford effort . I'd assume that this particular car is a custom build or a kit- perhaps that is what you were pointing out.

Back in the Day when I was in the Boy Scouts my Scout Master owned a Slot Car Racing Shop and I bought myself a 64 Ford GT 40 Slot Car! It was Blue with White Racing Stripes and had #40 on the Doors similar to the one in this YT video!...Thanks for the Memories!...God Bless!

@@legogenius1667 You were right. This is in fact a Mk1. The LHD layout comes from it being a replica mixed with the fact of it making the car more suitable to drive on US roads. Nearly all original GT40’s were RHD.

My neighbor Steve Earle drove by in one of these GT 40s Today I think it's a 85 but get this he has another one one of the Early ones....He started the antique no contact racing at Laguna Seca race track years ago....So besides these 2 GT 40s he has Driven by in a Cherry Woodie a 1958 Jag and he has his and Hers 56 and 57 Porsches....I've only talked to him once but I heard he has a Storage Garage down in town...I don't know what else he has down there but I'm going to find out....He has to drive by my house to go to town...I can wait to see what else he has..

Though it's a 5.7L, it fits, and is often swapped, into cars that originally had much smaller engines, such as the 1.8L Miata, due to the engine's somewhat compact exterior dimensions.
