I saw him perform this live a couple of months ago at a popular music venue in Manila called Pardon My French. He was celebrating his wife’s birthday with his family and the band invited him onstage. If you think this is impressive, you should see him do it while dancing. 🤯

Gary can never bottle in his energy! I will never forget when I was 12 and I saw him perform live. Guy never stops moving! The guy is an incredible dancer too! And the guy is 56 years old and looks and moves great!

He was i think 52 or 53 yo when he did this, you should have seen him in his prime. He plays piano and drums and dances like crazy - so his rhythmic skills is insane. He’s also a great composer his musicality is amazing. And as for his energy? Well hd’s called “Mr Pure Energy” for a reason. Thanks for a GREAT reaction! I’ve seen so many vocal coach reactions on this and yours is probably my fave. Not only you know the song but you understood exactly what he was doing, the technical aspect of jazz that he was bringing into the song and recognising his respect towards Chick Corea, Al Jarreau’s versions, (and even Bobby McFerrin). The most difficult part of this performance is the Insanely Smooth transition from the Scatting Solo into the verse which means he didn't miss a beat and note for that matter.. He plays piano and a lot of other instruments but his expertise is the BONGGO and percussive instruments. He's a LEGENDARY SINGER and DANCER in the Philippines for over 30 years now and has PUERTO RICAN blood in his veins which explains the Latin flair. If he can make you dance and groove while sitting, what til you see GARY V. perform on stage live!! 😁😁👍👍

I am 36 years old. When I was 6 years old, I was already singing and dancing to Gary V's Shout For Joy. He is called Mr. Pure Energy for a reason. When he was younger, you could see Michael Jackson's influence in his music, especially in his concerts. I bet he's an MJ fan as he is also really good at dancing while singing. :)

I have watched many reaction videos of Gary V's cover of "Spain" and you are the first to give a very accurate description/background of the song and who Gary is emulating. All other reactors I've watched just gave the usual "oohs, and aaahs" but you actually gave your your viewers a very informative jazz history lesson. Not sure if you have reacted to it already, but I would recommend you to react to KZ Tandingan and Jaya singing “Feeling Good’. It’s my favourite video in KZbin because every time I watch it I feel really good.
