WARNING - I should have mentioned this in the video. If you try this, be extremely careful. The sparks are incredibly hot and can burn you, or worse still, you can easily set your surroundings a light. Please take care.

What an absolute stunner of a picture Gary. Looks like something from War of the Worlds. Outstanding.

Great shots. One thing you forgot to mention is safety. Don't wear your good clothes because you will burn holes into them. Wear a hat and gloves because sparks will hit you at some point. Never do this around anything that can catch on fire and keep a fire extinguisher or something that can put out a fire around. You picked a perfect spot on a good night. The rain made everything wet and you were near the water. I love how the sparks come off the side of the boat like a waterfall.

Gary the images are fantastic BUT! I can't help but think that now it's only a matter of time before some idiot sets fire to the wreck trying this. I totally understand the shot and the difficulty involved and like I said the images are stunning.

Hi Gary, I am wanting to do this at an Abbey with my dog, creating angel wings - dog physically removed from the wire wool episode, of course. Wondered if I might be able to do this solo, but it's not looking that way really. Excellent effects on your images. Great work Gary and Lee. Thank you for sharing. Brilliant episode 🎇

It might be easier to do that with sparklers or a torch. To do it solo, you’ll need a trigger. It might be easier just to ask a friend to help though 😂👍👍

Wow photos are brilliant well done and to do wire wool off a wreak great idea well executed!. Just a question why did you leave head torch on as it adds to pollution? We do alot of wirewool photography and switch head torches off, as sometimes they distort the shot also we switch to day light mood you get a more orange glow ! Never try a old ship though we used a umbrella to rain sparks onto that was impressive 🙂
