The oakley golf lens are hacking. As a blue eye, they allow me to open my eyes on course. Everything pops. After 18 holes and taking them off my eyes can take a bit to readjust and cause some discomfort. I use the full frame less. They may look like ridiculous safety glasses, but they have no peripheral obstruction.
@garymartingolfКүн бұрын
@@Cr1mson_Ghost great to get some positive comments of approval for the glasses. I definitely feel so much more relaxed wearing 👌🏼

What a guy!!! UNION JACK microfiber bag too 👍 Yes, the Prism is the best lens for golf. They do take time to get used to though. Even if you don't use them to play in wear them in between shots as they will protect your eyes😎
@garymartingolfКүн бұрын
I am going to persist using them to be honest, I need to start taking more care of my eyes and skin, I’ve been very rubbish at that over the years playing in the sun. The are unreal for seeing undulation 🔥
@KentnDebiКүн бұрын
@garymartingolf I have a couple of pairs. I was really uncomfortable wearing them at first...very noticable difference in perception when looking down stood over the ball 🤔 You do get accustomed to the difference though and you will be doing your eyes an incredible favour. Skin care...I always wear Riemanns P20 sunscreen now. Incredible stuff, apply it once and I'm good for the day 👍
@kellycoates5027Күн бұрын
One thing to know Gary, use the little bag they came in to wipe them off with. Don't use your shirt or anything else to clean them with, it will scratch the lenses and you don't want that.
@petewilkinson1961Күн бұрын
I have a pair of glasses from Decathlon with orange tint lenses that cost me £15.00 and they are absolutely amazing for golf. The tint makes the ball stand out and you can definitely see the undulations of the greens better. I’ve worn sunglasses for years now whilst playing and always had a normal smoked lens due to photophobia but I have now used orange tint ones for last couple of years and would never go back.

I have a pair of those and wore the first time in 24, they make the brown in the grass stand out more which definitely helps green reading. I love them and if u have the lighter version you can wear in the shade too. There is a dark and light version

I’ve been wearing Oakley Prizm lenses for over 20 years. Initially when I wore contact lenses I had the non-prescription lenses. For past 5 years or so I stopped wearing contact lenses so now my Oakley Prizm lenses are prescription strength. They’re amazing.

First Gaz, to tune into a coloured lens you have to keep them on and don’t keep removing them. Anyone who snowboards or skis knows that after a time the colour will be transparent as your eyes adapt. They will definitely improve contrast and remove glare. Great content and great to hear Dans lyrical banter coming out. 😀👍🏾

@garymartingolf my issue is glare from the sun. All polarized glasses help some. Good ones with color matching lenses (like these claim) help immensely see the greens. I cannot see any details of the green without. With a goid pair,I can even see the grain of the grass

Ironically, i have just got a pair of Oakley prescription lens photocromic glasses, as i was fed up wearing ordinary glasses and carrying prescription sun glasses. Lucky lad! They are not cheap. I have worn Prizm for a years in the Middle East and if you have a green ball it “pops” more. Look after the lens and don’t leave out in the extreme heat as the coating will crack. They are good as normal sunglasses too.

My son has worn Oakley Bottleneck Rootbeer sunglasses since early 2000’s with brown prescription lenses while playing golf.He says they almost separate the greens and browns of the grass and trees on the course which makes reading the greens and judging the distances easier.The only drawback being when he bought them they were were nearly £400 pounds due to the curvature of the lenses being specially made.He will not go near a golf course without them.

Ive worn those same glasses for the last 2 years. They are awsome for golf no doubt. I agree you see the green contours much better. As nice as they are, I wouldn't consider them any advantage for my game. I'm still struggling 😂 ✌️

Dan the man, sorry Gaz 😂. Those glasses are interesting, as I wear sunglasses on track bike on those wet sunny days, but the lenses are a special type (don't know the name, sorry) that dulls the sun but brightens the track making the damp spots look drier, so to have more confidence to brake later and get back on the power earlier, there is always more grip than looks to naked eye. 🏍️

Ey-up Yorkshire lad. I have developed cataracts having played golf outdoors for many years, always without any eye protection. Conversely, my golfing partner, a doctor, always plays with expensive sunglasses even in overcast weather! He says that he pays for the quality of the lens, not necessarily the name. He is in his sixties and does not need distance glasses. As a professional you are at GREAT RISK of developing cataracts. So, playing with good quality sunglasses is NONE NEGOTIABLE. You will soon get used to them, especially with them not having full frames. For your own good, don't make the same mistake as me. Derbyshire 'Dad.'
