I echo everyone’s noticing ants are more plentiful this year (southern NJ). And I just figured the heat was the reason for the die off of peas and my stunted potato plants. Turns out ants are tunneling through my potato roots and even the potatoes themselves. Thank you!!!

❤ thank you for sharing this info. i have never seen so many ants in all my life. 😡they are in the garden, pots, raised beds, all over my porch. climbing all over plants, trees. living inside of empty pots, piles of cardboard; bascially they are in/on Everthying on the ground. they even climb onto my tables and get into my pots and seedlings. i almost wanted to give up until ....BAM .... you posted the most helpful video. i will be giving this a try. thank you for your expertise and hard work. 😁 Btw.....i noticed they are really attracted to the plants that have aphids on them. trying to get rid of aphids with a soapy water mix. but that also seems like a losing battle.

I agree with you with the ants. They are ridiculous down here in Savannah Georgia. I was using baby powder and it seemed to work but the last two mounds that I had I had to reapply the baby powder three times before they died off. Being legally blind, I do not see the ant bed until they start biting on me. And they got me so bad that I had to go to the emergency room in order to get treated for it.

I have Argentinian Ants. Invasive with no predators. It's thought that the whole US is one colony because a few from the same colony came to this area from Argentine. It's believed that one ant from San Diego will be recieved by ants in Louisiana because they all have the same genetics. They also seem to crave sweet, protein/fat, or mold at different times of the year. They are horrible. Terro just doesn't work on them except for very limited times of the year. I use plastic containers because I've got young kiddos.

I use nematodes for less Japanese Beetles with my neighbors 2 years now and they have lessened A LOT. Arbico organics is a trusted company and I'm not a representative at all. I also have been told to sprinkle milky spore however I have yet to do this. Hope this helps!
