love this idea, Gary. I don't suffer from rabbits but I do suffer from blackbirds taking the tops off peas beans and lettuce, these would work well instead of netting. great job on this video, packed full of info.

I love how your using dish drying racks to deter rabbits. Those peas look really healthy. I can't wait to start my peas, I have to wait a few more weeks until the weather calms down here in Florida. We're still getting a lot of rain, humidity and heat. Great video, thank you so much for sharing!!

Stacey, I know what you mean. I'm in Central Florida. I have my seeds, trays & seed starting mix all ready to go. I'm just waiting for the start of cooler weather then I can get busy. I already tried to start some seeds but that failed. It's raining right now. Okra and field peas doing well. If I can only get control of the cottony scale and mealy buys. I got some neem oil from Gary's seed shop. I hope it will work! Have a great week☺🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋

@@shirleyk623 you have to shade then until they are older I live in central Florida and that has worked for me. I even got lettuce growing in my garden. Tons of peppers and I started some of my fall seeds last week and they are already sprouting. Collards are growing good too. Good luck!!

SoulGardner74. Thanks for the help. I'm in the process of making some type of temporary shaded structure. Just recently moved my garden out of 75% shade. My husband teases me and says you wanted more sun, now you have it. but now you need shade, I don't get it.....He's not a gardener, he just builds what I need or want. Some of my early starts are ok. Just not the lettuces and greens. I'm glad yours are doing well. ☺🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋

I just put my sugar snap peas in today. They went into flower boxes up against wire fencing, inside my first fenced container garden. I've learned so much from you and I want to whole heartedly thank you for all you do. 💚 I didn't know if I should fertilize or not right now.

Juls Knapp it’s ok to give them a water soluble fertilizer low on Npk is sufficient. I use a fish fertilizer. It’s 5-1-1

*How to Grow Vegetables in a Bucket:* 1. Purchase or acquire several 5-gallon buckets. 2. Make holes in the bottom for drainage. 3. Paint the bucket for a nicer appearance. 4. Place some gravel in the bottom of the bucket. 5. Fill the rest of the bucket up with an even mixture of peat moss, planting soil, and compost. 6. Place your plants. 7. Water daily during dry spells.

My tomatoes got brown spots all over the stalks and leaves and the tomatoes look like they have blossom rot and some of the tomatoes have that white music white stuff on them, is there any inexpensive cure?? I read something about copper but where do I get that??..😬🙄🤔

It's a copper based antifungal product. I saw some at home depot. It treats black spot disease. Don't get your tomatoes leaves wet (or any plant), when you water them. I covered mine with a canopy here in south Florida during rainy season. Also from brutal sun Ray's. Let us know how you are doing.

The rot is because of a lack of calcium. You can feed them lime or milk.

Greetings Gary..I'm starting peas as of this video..IAM in zone 6b right above you in PA..my question is if it starts to get cold in PA and there is a threat of frost..could I put a clear light plastic cover over my more tender crops such as my peas to give them a little more time??..and as always thank you for your help and a great video.. blessings to you...

I LOVE YOUR IDEA FOR PLANTING PEAS ! I REALLY NEED THE WIRE CAGES TO KEEP OFF RABBITS BUT I HAVE NEVER SEEN THEM ANYWHERE. WHAT THRIFT STORE DID YOU GET THEM IN ? I STRUGGLE TO GET MY YOUNG PLANTS GOING BECAUSE OF RABBITS. THANKS !

carol parrish Dollar tree 99 cents . Can use laundry baskets also. Much bigger and can use u clamps or sticks to anchor them down. The bottom now being used as a top will keep to much sun off of plants from burning. Drill a few holes in it for plants to come thru
