I used to meet my uncle Tom Banks MC at Barking Station on a Saturday to go and watch West Ham play at home at the Boleyn Ground at Upton Park. He used to bring me Dogfight Douubles every week . Usually the Spitfire and ME109 or the Beaufighter and ME110. Happy days. I was only about 8 so over 50 years ago

You'd think. Even with osmium, arguably the densest element available, it would only hold about 16g. And it would cost about £900. But thanks for the kind comments!!!

Thanx for such a detailed video. I like this type of pairing aircrafts. All my collection is about "matching" like mig-29 vs f-16, mig-15 vs f-84, zero vs wildcat, il-2 vs ju-87g, spitfire vs fw-190, etc. Adding these two gonna be great.

what solution/decal softener do you use to make the decals apply well over uneven surfaces. Really good content aswell.

I use Microset and Microsol, but they work best on a gloss surface so the model really benefits form a coat of varnish before the decals go on. Microset helps the decal set correctly to the surface then Microsol helps get them into panel lines and tricky contours.

I have a question about those metal ball things you put in your kits, what do they do?

They are lead weights used to weigh down the front of the aircraft. Otherwise the model won't sit on the wheels, it will tip back onto its tail. Only affects some kits.

I am about to build the mig17, what do you suggest I use for help nose weight?

I guess some flattened lead shot, or fishing weights. You need to pack it in as much as possible. Maybe also some Liquid Gravity too?

nice, just got mine from online shop and found out that 6 of 9 paints are either dry or grease-like. Reported to shop and looking for discount or replacement of paints

You wouldn't want to use those paints anyway. Get some Tamiya or AK.

Did you spray the body of the a4 or use the included paint to brush paint it?

Hi Tyler, for this one I used the kit paint but diluted it down for my airbrush. Seemed OK.

Because you're modelling a shell of plastic that has a very different weight distribution to the real aircraft. On the MiG-17 for example, the engine was very close to the centre of mass but at the front you had the cockpit, guns and ammunition all of which weigh a lot. The tail was mainly a hollow exhaust tube and some reasonably light, thin aluminium. But the MiG-17 is one of the more extreme examples!

@@garys_stuff right, so does that affect how it sits on the stand or something? This kit does have a stand right? There were no marketing images for it but my spitfire vs 109 kit had one.

Yes the Dogfight Double box includes a dynamic stand. It should be fine on that.
